Hard to go wrong. No moving parts. Calibrated in a helpful way. Easy to read. Stand useful to get the gauge up off the ground to avoid ground cover obstacles to viewing, etc.

Easy to set up and attach to fence, post or where ever you want it. Screws included. Nice water gauge. Easy to read. It has been very busy of late.

It's fun to see how much rain we get. The base has a thin leg that can bend if you're not careful. The rainfall is hard to read from a distance. Overall it does the job though.

This would be an okay product if it were even remotely accurate. It is not. So it completely fails in its purpose.Although it's hard to see from the photo, the opening at the top is wider than the width of the bottom of the tube. In addition there is a lip around the top of the tube that slants downward, so any rain that hits the rim goes in. HOWEVER, the numbers along the tube measuring inches are exactly one inch apart. This would give an accurate reading IF the tube were straight up and down with no lip around the top of the tube. Other ring gauges that are built this way make adjustments to the number scale to compensate for the shape of the tube. This one does not. My old rain gauge is very accurate and it always agrees with the local weather station. The only reason I'm replacing it is that after many years the plastic has been scorched by the Sun and it's hard to read. I would send the new one back if it weren't such a pain in the a$$. That's what the seller is counting on.. would be an okay product if it were even remotely accurate. It is not. Has more inches to view than any other seen. Hopefully it is free proof as advertised. Really like the larger numbers. Am pleased with the purchase.

Large numbers make it easy to read from a distance.
