I received this product only a week ago, but so far it is working well. It is a bit bulky with the four zones and my faucet is constructed in such a way that the supporting rod does not attach to my siding. However, neither particular hinder the use of the product. The unit takes four AA batteries, which are fairly simple to install. Once installed, the screen is activated and you can begin to program each zone (or just a couple of them). The large dial is clear, though you want to be sure you know which zone you are on before programming the timer. The little zone numbers that appear on the screen are not easy to see, nor is the little underline that displays beneath the zone you are presently programing. Once you get the hang of it, it is not a big concern. Zone 4 has the option of manual spraying that overrides whatever time is set in it. This is handy for washing the car or other use of a sprayer hose. It can be set for a particular amount of time. It defaults to ten minutes. The device works well for us because of our garden and the fact one sprayer does not cover everything. A timer like this is ideal for covering all the parts of the garden, along with parts of the yard that we wish to water (front and back). It is especially handy for watering while on trips. I will try to remember to return to this review in the future as the spring and summer progress forward for updates on how the timer works over time. But for now, in its maiden voyage, it is doing the trick!

The RAINPOINT Sprinkler Timer 4 Outlets, Digital Hose Timer for Watering, 4-Zone Water Timer for Garden Hose (ITV405) is an outstanding product with which I am completely satisfied. My experience with sprinkler timers suggests there are three factors to consider 1) ease of setup, 2) reliability and durability, and 3) leakage. Setup of the ITV405 is the easiest I have encountered with any brand or model of sprinkler timer. It is intuitive without a manual, but the user manual provides clear steps. Reliability for a sprinkler timer, in my opinion, is measured by "set it and forget it", something I have been able to do with confidence for this product. Durability is not something I can evaluate for this 4-zone timer since I have had it for only four days. However, I also own Rainpoint's similar ITV205 model for two zones and it has shown flawless durability for the months that I have used it. Leakage with both this 4-zone timer and the 2-zone timer is no issue at all as they have maintained tight seals and stay dry, something I think is very important for battery preservation. Rainpoint has produced a sprinkler timer with this model that is quite obviouslyworth the cost in my opinion. My experience with Rainpoint customer support is also very positive. I own some of Rainpoint's WiFi sprinklers and the associated hub/gateway. I submitted a support question shortly after purchasing a additional timer and Rainpoint's response was quick, clear, and effective.

UPDATE: After 4 months of daily use, the unit LED screen no longer shows all the numbers and one of the ports is not working! I tried changing batteries, but that hasn’t changed the screen. It is sheltered from rain, so not sure what happened. Trying to contact manufacturer. Was really pleased with the unit, but it has only been 4 months of daily use, so now I am not sure what to think. Will see what manufacturer says. This unit has 4 outlets! Prior years I would connect to two units with two outlets and once I saw this, I hesitated at first to buy due to price and past history with these units of various brands has resulted in leak or cracks, but I needed simplicity in my life, so I took the risk. I hooked up all 4 outlet ports and now have my irrigation systems all consolidated at one faucet outlet. If you don’t use all 4 outlets, you can cap them and set the timer to skip over that port. It was very easy to program each port, and the manual override is a nice feature to check my system or provide extra watering. Well worth the money to buy this.

The quality on this product is great. It is very sturdy and is well built. The set up was easy and could be followed with no issues. The LCD brightness allows for easy readability. No issues with a leakage. The functionality is great. I have not had any issues with the timer malfunctioning as I did with a previous product. I would recommend to other buyers and will be purchasing another one again, maybe two.

I followed the instructions but as soon as I turned on the faucet, water poured out of the casing. It was cycling through each port just fine but I have a diffrent one port timer that I left outside just below freezing. This caused the casing to expand and had water pour out like the product I received. Things I don't like about this product: I have a melanor 4 port that you can set the time for 4 separate time on each separate port. So if I wanted my water to go off at 9pm, 1am, 6 am, and 9am on port 1 I can set it to those exact times. This timer let's you set a time but then you only get the repeat options of 8 (idk if this is goes off once in 8 hours or it does it twice for a total of three times) and 12 hours from the time you set and then after that you can only select days. I like that it was big and hefty because I equated that to a robust product, which I was wrong about. The 4 batteries for power is actually pretty nice, sometimes on my melanor, if it even drops one bar, it won't have enough juice to open a port from time to time. I returned the rainbird and got a restmo instead with the updated brass fitting for the same price. Fingers crossed 🤞 it will go better or I'll have to buy another melanor (which if I'm lucky I get maybe 2 seasons out of.)
