This is a very attractive purse/backpack style. However, the material is floppy and it starts out heavy! If you use it as a purse, you still have those dangling straps for the backpack. Those straps will become annoying. There is a hook strap at the top, but putting it through the arm is not comfortable. So, carry it from the hook will be better, but still not very comfortable.The purse/backpack is deep, meaning your stuff goes way inside and you need to search around. There are a lot of pockets/slots inside the purse, and there is zippered one in the back. With many pockets in and out, you tend to lose things. If you are very organized with a purse, this is your challenge.All in all, it COULD be a nice purse for the right person. For me, I don't like the hobo style. The backpack straps should be removable just as the carryon strap. Hardware runs smooth!

The backpack feels a little like suede but has the look of black denim. I like the way it looks. It has quite a few pockets to hold all the essentials and to keep yourself organized. There are water bottle holders on each side and a nice zipper pocket on the backside to be able to keep your wallet. the straps are adjustable but not really padded. In the main large compartment there is a zipper pocket and then a couple of open organizer pockets. on the front there is a snap enclosure which could easily carry a phone. There are 2 additional zipper pockets on the front with the lower one having an additional clip ring that you could attach your keys to. Its the perfect go to bag for school/work when you need to carry a small laptop. It does have a removeable shoulder strap as well if you do not wish to carry it as a backpack and it has a handle on top to be able to quickly grab it. The only real negative (which is why I took a star off) are the width of the straps. Being around 1 1/4 " wide I would think that they would start to dig into your shoulders if you loaded down the backpack and had to carry it any great distance. It's a really nice bag if you are carrying it short distances or if you are keeping it light.
