I dip the sponge into the edge of a small amount of acrylic paint on my extra gelli plate and then, I daub it onto the top of homemade or storebought stencils that are placed on a gelli plate or directly onto my paper design. The sponge cleans well in soapy water and lasts a long time..

These little pads and their handle are such a great find! I have been plagued in the past with unwanted line marks on documents that I edge antique. This is due to the fine line that can be left when an ink pad is even lightly pressed against a page. These little round gems make that issue a non-concern for me. The handle is easy to hold and the pads hold just the right amount of ink for a dappling action.This package gives you two handles and a starter set of pads, so I recommend buying the companion refill set of pads, as well. While I have had success in cleaning off the pads, using an ink pad cleaner solution, I prefer to have a bunch of these tiny pads on hand so I can manipulate multiple shades all at once without having to stop and tidy up after each color..I am delighted with the results that I have been getting with these!

you would not think that a rounded blending tool would work so much better than the rectangular one for edging especially- but it does. Love this little tool and the pads are velcro so change out is quick & easy. Also you can wash & reuse them. Personally- I use a mild liquid soap- just a drop onto the pad, work it in, then rinse with water. DO NOT rinse with water first. Work in the soap (any mild liquid soap) and it will work out the majority of the ink & then rinse. Mind you- there will be staining, but the ink is gone & no transfer to future projects. Thus you get maximum life out of the product.
