Note The threaded holes in these parts have occasionally been machined slightly too shallow. If you find yourself in this situation, there are a couple simple remedies you can try: using washers to compensate for the slightly insufficient thread depth, or swapping out the original screws for ones that are around 5mm shorter to ensure they don't bottom out in the shallow threaded holes.

Well...this worked well for my 2000 F150. I used the gasket included with gasket sealer(gear oil compatible). Tried the Lubelocker...leaked. Nothing like sealer. Anyhow, I was able to use the included hex bolts. Take your time and hand thread the bolts then star pattern tight. 33ft/lbs I believe. This cover holds more than the stock cover. Easily 1 extra quart over the 3.5 quarts stock. Probably will go thru it next year to change the bearings, but good for now.

All the bolt holes line up right but it leaves almost a 1/2" of the mating surface bare and doesn't seal correctly.

Installed this solid diff cover to my 2001 Mustang GT. I like that you can fill and empty the diff fluid without removing the whole cover. And it also tightens the diff bearings. When installing it I did not use the gasket supplied... I bought a lube locker gasket for peace of mind. I also added Ford diff friction modifer then added 2 bottles and half of Lucas diff oil. So far so good ! Just remember to tighten in a criss cross pattern to 25 pounds. Also do add blue lock tight to every bolt and silicone for oil to the bearing bolts when tightening. Also add to fill plug and drain plug.
