First I will say that I was concerned because we’re in the middle of a heat wave and my box was sitting out in the sun for several hours before I got home from work. Worry not! When I opened the box it was suuuuuper frozen. Hockey-puck-frozen. Very happy about that. I got 5 packages of 8 patties. I had to defrost a package in the fridge for several hours before I could separate, but then they came apart relatively easily and I put each patty in a ziplock and back in the freezer. I left one patty in the fridge to fully defrost for the evening meal to start introducing my cats to the raw food. I gave them little nibbles and Haru was into it right away. I started with 25% raw to 75% kibble as suggested. Haru was accepting, but Remy is more fickle. She looked like I tried to feed her a dirty rock instead of delicious raw food. This is normal.Cats require patience and persistence. They crave routine and if you suddenly change the routine they may have a hard time adjusting. We’re on day 2 now and Remy is still annoyed, but I caught her licking at the raw food after she ate all of her horrible dry kibble nuggets. Progress. Also a lot of cats don’t care for cold food, so I’ll try mixing some warm water to see if that’s better for her delicate sensibilities. 🙄 The total transition should take a month, otherwise you may get angry cat, hungry cat, barfy cat, or poopy cat. SLOWLY transition the food and it’ll be okay. Always consult your vet before making a major dietary change for your pet, but ultimately a raw food diet has the potential to prevent illness and to promote an overall healthier life for your cats.If something changes in the following months I will update the review, but so far so good. Reasonably priced, fast shipping, safe packaging for food, and healthier food for my kitties. 👍👍

This is our second box ordered from Raw Paws for our dog. We chose the chicken patties for our second box and these are easier than the chubs to portion out. Our dog loves the food and these are easy to handle and use. Both boxes arrived frozen solid.Love that there is no filler. We add a multivitamin, a little goat milk, and a couple of ounces of shredded carrot and green beans to round it out.

My picky German shepherd ate 4 big patties and still was hungry for more! That never happens with other brands of raw chicken.
