There is not much to say here, it did its job.Just know the ID is exactly 1/2 inch (0.5), which means it may not fit a 1/2-inch OD rod or shaft due to tolerances on either piece.

The quality of the coupler itself "looks good" BUT this coupler is 0.472 inches and will not fit around my 0.5 inch bar. I'm going to try another manufacturer.

I bought this to use in conjunction with a 1/2" rod and 1/2" drill bit to drill holes into chair legs I'm building. This is a heavy duty coupler. The four set screws hold the pieces strongly in place. To ensure no slippage while in use I ground a flat spot on the extension rod and drill bit for the set screws to anchor to. Unfortunately the inside diameter was slightly less than 1'2" so I have to my 1/2" drill to ream it out so that I could slide my 1/2" rod into the coupler. It was easy enough to do and works perfectly well now but was an unnecessary additional step. Hence the 3 star rating.
