The tube has the right length and circular cap is permanently attached to the tube (so it doesn't slide out and fall inside the cello)

I live in the desert and the walnut under my tuning keys was drying out so the notes would slip. I had to get some moisture there. I bought two of these humidifiers and just set them along the tuners. They don't drip and seem to be helping a lot with the dry wood problem. I highly recommend these for any musical instrument.

These work but are bulkily big. Prefer the green dampits.

Like this one better than the more popular brand.

Water dripped out of the bottoms no matter how much I squeezed out. This made them unusable as the last thing anyone wants is water dripping inside their cello. The only time they don't drip is when they are dry and of course, that defeats their purpose. I ordered two of these and both dripped the same. Stick with Damp-it brand.

The small end was too large to fit in the f-hole of my cello. It would fit if I forced it, but doing so I risk cracking the top or having the end of it fall off into the instrument.

This one cause damage to your cello! Water dripped in my cello after I squeezed out excess water from the tube and wiped the outside clean. If you compare this one with the original dampit, you will see dampit has longer tube length without holes at the end, which actually holds excess water and avoids the dripping problem.
