The tubes were custom extruded of the finest non-vinyl and non-allergenic resin, soft enough not to exert pressure around the F-holes / sound-holes and sufficiently sturdy to minimize contact with the inside parts of an instrument. The water-suction stems within the Humitrons absorb water ten times of their weight and then slowly release it through the holes.

Soak in distilled water, drain excess and set in soundhole. Keeps humidity at desired level, reload as desired.

This item keeps my acoustic guitar healthy, especially during the winter months when humidity may decrease drastically, as well as throughout the year to keep the levels relatively even; I would highly suggest distilled water (about 99 cents per gallon, or free if you have your own still) as tap water may have minerals or might even allow bacterial growth (if it feels slimy, then you've got that); otherwise, just soak it to allow the sponge to absorb the water, dry any excessive water with a cloth or tissue before inserting it into the sound hole with the two middle strings set into the grooves to hold in place, relax & enjoy.

My guitar instructor suggested I used this for my Martin guitars. Easy to use.

I have been using the Oasis guitar humidifier for many years, and they work good for a guitar with sound holes. I recently acquired an archtop guitar with F holes and the Oasis humidifiers don't work with that style of guitar. I purchased the RDM Guitar Humitron Humidifier for this reason. I was somewhat concerned that water would drip inside the guitar with these. After submerging the humidifier, I wipe it dry and then hold it up until I am sure nothing will be dripping off the bottom. I then insert it into the F holes. I purchased two humidifiers so I insert one into each side of the guitar. I have only had these for a few day so I don't have much more to report.

Simple system to humidify guitars. I have several and I’m very happy with them.

I bought a two pack of these (branded “Martin guitar humidifier) in 2009. It was $6.49 on Amazon for the two pack, which is $3.25 per unit. It’s 2024 and these are now about $12 per unit depending on what day you look.I was going to buy a couple more of these but saw the price and said aloud “you’re highâ€.Pros- they work to hydrate a guitar down inside the body.- you can, to some extent, control the amount of hydration with how many you put in the guitar- a former benefit was they were quite cost effective. Considerably less now.Cons- one way humidification can ADD moisture, but not REMOVE excess moisture- can be hard to wring out excess moisture without damaging the unit where the ends break loose…then they’re a pain.- price is pretty high now for what it isRecommendations:D’addario’s guitar humidifier is half the price, and works better in my opinion.Music Nomad’s humidifier is great but a bit over priced at MSRP $15. I got one for $6.79 though. The downside of all sponge based solutions is they are not capable of absorbing excess moisture if the humidity gets a bit high.DAddario humidipaks are 2-way humidification. A bit pricey, especially over time, but you don’t have to keep resetting them every day. They will accurately get you to the ~50% sweet spot IF you follow the directions and use the “restore†first to humidify the case and guitar then the “maintainâ€Boveda makes the product for Daddario. You can buy Boveda branded humidity packs as well, and in various sizes (for different instruments, cigar humidors, etc) as well as specific humidity levels like 49%, 58%, 62%, 65%, 72%, 75%, 84%. They also make some that are more absorbent for high humidity environments. You can really work with these to carefully tailor your humidification to your local climate. They recommend the 72% packs to “season†the case first. So that’s probably what daddarios “restore†packs are. Boveda makes calibration packs to calibrate your hygrometer. They make 32% and 75% so it’s possible to do 2-point calibration.I recommend Bluetooth connected hygrometers (or WiFi connected ones) so you can see how humidity is changing in your case without opening it. I have several Govee Bluetooth ones. Their app can monitor up to 10 and send you temperature/ humidity alarms *when you are in Bluetooth range* of a couple hundred feet. I haven't tried the wifi ones but assume they can alert you when you are NOT in the immediate vicinity.

I bought this December 2024 (it is January 4th 2025). So I’ve used it just few weeks. In the beginning, I was very satisfied with it’s functionality. But from last week, I’ve been noticing the cap was not holding itself well at the soundhole, and it was stuck inside and I had to try pull it out. Finally today, it was stucked inside and I realized the cap is missing. I can’t find inside of my case. I think I saw something similar earlier on the floor of restaurant where I was playing. I’m pretty it must be cleaned up to somewhere…
