It's a realistic human skull that I am using for decorations in a bar, not as an anatomical model, but the biologist in me remembers 2 years of Human Anatomy and without too close of an inspection, it looks right. Processes and foramen seem to be in the right spots anyway. As you would expect a skull without muscle, tendons, skin, etc. is a bit smaller than an actual head, so I have had to tighten down the hat that I have him wearing (one of my old squadron ballcaps). But it still works. There are no moving parts, and it's solid plastic, so it's pretty durable. It should hold up unless you are hurling it at the ground. Even then, it may just bounce. I'm not really interested in finding out. OK, maybe a little interested.... I do wish the top came off giving me the opportunity to pretend I was drinking from the skulls of my enemies, but you can't have everything.

Got this for my snake enclosure. Wanted a skull without all the holes so I don’t have to worry about him getting stuck. It seems very well made and looks so good. I’m considering buying more to replace my cheaper Halloween decor skulls.

UPDATE: I gave this 5 stars, because I really like it now. I needed to find the right "light" for it. It is detailed in a pleasing way, as I mentioned in the original review. The GREAT thing about this one is that it is bright and reflective. Without the darker shadowing that makes the others look good in bright light, this one, or mine, at least, and some other folks mentioned also, is very light color and reflective, Place it in a dark room with one single point light source, such as a street light or full moon light from a window, and it reflects and forms shadows and looks better than the others. The shadows change with your movement, and since the dark highlights are less pronounced, the light and shadow has more ability to illuminate the unique detailing ... making the appearance variable, interesting, and more creepy than a skull with "fixed" darker pigmented highlights. (Also a good choice for an artist drawing model) With the light source behind you, you may also experience the reflection off the back of the eye socket, makeing it look like glowing pupils that follow you when you step left or right. Original Review: The pictures made it look great. ... so the high expectation contributes to the disappointment. The picture looks like dark highlights but in fact the item arrived with what looks like very nicely done paint in the highlights, but they used a color almost like the skull itself. The eye sockets and nasal area are very light in color.(mine happens to have some ashes in The eye sockets, darkening them a bit.) It does come with the most fancy keychain like tag attached, with the brand name, so they seem to be really proud of it. The tag is really extra nice, but not worth the cost, even with the free skull attached to it. (joke, but really, they went all out on the brand name tag!) The skull is the unique style pictured. It just needs a darker finish, so it could appear like in the picture.The size is OK, comparable to the other "life size" skull items sold. I had ordered one from each vendor, so they all together look varied and natural, but if you are only going to buy one, this one looks less real (in normal bright lighted room), but would be truly great for a paint it/ decorate it yourself project.

This is my fourth or fifth full size skull, I use them for photo props. My other skulls are significantly more expensive than this one was and are more detailed. The lower jaw (Mandible for those keeping notes) is also a separate bone on all my other skulls as it should be but I wanted something to use as a quick and dirty prop. Sometimes it just fits to have a model holding a skull and for realism I use a skull without the Mandible but sometimes you just want a full skull without the hassle of separate bones. That is what I use this one for, it has a nice patina, like porous bone that has been in the ground for a while but not forever. I'm dinging it a star (actually maybe 2/3 of a star) because the teeth have the same finish as the bone and the skull is a little broader at the Temporal bone than I wanted.For the cost it is a pretty good value, I use it as a headphone stand at home and it works great. Did leave it on a camera bag on my front seat while I had lunch one day, need to remember not to do that again...

This is a great well made skull. It is solid all the way through. I am using it for milk jug skulls for a project and it is working great. Enough detail to stand out when the milk jug melts but not too many angles for it to get stuck or melt in the cracks. This would be a great prop for a desk or perhaps a book case. I would not use it outside as a grave yard prop only because it is so nice and the detail would be lost sitting n the ground. It is a good heavy piece and sits level. I'm very happy with it.

We need a skull for our custom made coffin table. This worked amazingly! It was way better quality than I was expecting to be honest.It isn't too heavy, but not too light (not like plastic ones from dollar stores).This worked great, and look realistic inside our table.
