First and foremost let's say that this set is worth the price just for the hammer alone. The hammer is extremely good, heavy, solid. It comes with 04 interchangeable heads so you can use the right hammerhead for the job at hand. The punches are good quality, nothing exceptional. The punches are NOT rolling pins. Real Avid just started offering a punch set with rolling pin punches. Let's say that if you are NOT engaged in heavy gunsmithing jobs, but rather working in light to medium gunsmithing projects or repairs/maintenance jobs, the punches work well (remember there are operator errors and sometimes people blame the tool)The set comes in a very nice, attractive plastic set where you can have the punches and the hammer organized together in a neat and handsome way. I am the type of person who likes cleanliness and a well-organized workbench (to each their own, it is me) So rather having the punches rolling around in one place and the hammer laying somewhere else is not for me. So, The fact that they stay together is a plus in my book. All in all, I am happy with the punch set and also with the bench block by​ Real Avid as well.

I love Real Avid products. Own the Bore Boss bore snake, Gun Boss Pro Handgun cleaning kit, and now this AVHPS punch kit. They all have something in common -- little common-sense details & features that show some real thought went into developing the kit. The AVHPS is no different.There're any number of punch sets available on Amazon. Some are super-cheap, most are not... but let's take a basic metric for usefulness in a punch set, the size of the punches themselves. I can scroll and click and find two dozen kits here that have long, pen-length punches, and for an AR or shotgun perhaps okay? But a handgun, not so much. The Stanley set this AVHPS is replacing (and Galloway Precision sells as tools) is heavy, awkward to store and retrieve the punches from, and has half the sizes a handgun will never need. The AVHPS punches are small and handy, have good hardness, and dbl-o-ring grips make them easier to hold. They can be held with included punch clips if you're worried about hitting your fingers. The hammer is substantial-feeling with good weight and a nice rubberized grip, with swappable heads for different tasks. All in a case that doubles as a stand for the kit while at the workbench.$40 is not cheap for a set of punches... but adding all the value and 'yeah that's a slick feature' in this and other Real Avid products... done.

Great value and quality. I use this almost daily and its been great. The only negative I'd give it is that the strike faces on the punches are slightly rounded and slick. I tried sanding the face to get more purchase but damnit the quality is so good that it takes a power sander to rough it up.

Top quality tools. I've had some other sets of different brands and this set is by far the most durable The case that truns into a stand itself, is a bonus. I bought another as a gift and he's very pleased with his as well

Great item for taking care of gun repairs. The tools are well constructed and very durable. The locking container makes it easy to take with you. Fits great in your range bag.

The handle of the hammer is a bit short and has a curve near the end. It takes a bit of getting used-to, but it lets you snap the head onto a punch smartly. So, you trade off striking force for speed. It seems to work.The punches appear to be average strength, but they have rubber bands around them to give a better grip. I've had to use tools like this when my hands were grimy, so these won't be so slippery to use.The hammer came with interchangeable heads that I could swap, depending on the job.The case sits upright, like a folding step ladder, and you can see where everything is without taking as much workspace on the bench.I think the whole thing is pretty clever and innovative.

Qualité de fabrication générale excellente, tout comme la finition. Les tailles des goupilles sont gravées dessus. Le coffret est pratique et de bonne facture. 4 embouts de matières différentes sont fournis avec le maillet, qui est suffisamment lourd et bien équilibré pour toutes les situations. Bref, un Must have à l'excellent rapport qualité/prix pour tout amoureux des armes qui souhaite régler/entretenir son matériel.

Il prodotto è perfetto nel contenuto ma non nella confezione. Infatti causa un imballo scadente fatto da Amazon si è rotto un pezzo della scatola in un punto critico, ovvero dove c’è la cerniera di apertura della confezione.Ho chiesto un piccolo rimborso, perché il prodotto era imballato male ed amazon mi è venuto incontro con un piccolo rimborso ma apprezzato.

Really nice set, all contained in a decent case. Punches are well made as is the hammer. Nice to have the ability to change the hammer head to different materials. Little pin alignment tool is really useful. Good set all round.
