Never has anything made me swear more than this to put up. First off, the light bulb adapter wires need to be longer, they were far too short for my standard can light depth. Because of the depth, the wires were easily tucked in, they didn't need to be so short. Second, one screw, and then 1 nut and two wing nuts to stabalize. I had finally gotten everything together, then went to hang the chandelier and the plate was so loose, it kept pushing in and I couldn't twist the caps on to secure it. While adjusting the wing nuts for height, the nut to secure the screw had come loose, allowing to push up and down. Lastly, the white ceiling plate to disguise the hole, it was too heavy and didn't attach to anything, it made it impossible to attach everything. I finally used two sided tape to attach to the ceiling temporarily while I hung the chandelier. It's all up there now, and up there good, but it was a several hour ordeal including resting arms.

I had a can light on top of my kitchen sink I didn't love. Thought about hanging a pendent but didn't want to pull the can and dry wall. Thought about trying these converters but wasn't too sure about them. This converter fit my 6'' can opening perfectly. I'n my usual fasion, I like to keep these review clear, concise and to the point.Pros: Works well, was able to flush mount with the ceiling drywall. Feels secure enought to hang a pendent light. Adjustable for 4'' to 6'' much easier than some of the other items I've seen. For the value, I think it's worth it.Cons: Drilling into the can light with the self tapping screws was great but somewhat difficult having to look upwards and drill at an angle. In their defence though, how else would you attach the mount securely? Just a little annoying as I almost lost the screws a few times down the drain. The wing buts they also provided, though easy for tightening repeatedly got in the way of installation. I should have swapped them out for regular nuts, but I was in a hurry. All in all, I would buy it.Edit: I tried to post images of the install, but for some reason Amazon wouldn't let me post the review. You're not missing much, it's self explanatory.

As a single mom I have learned to do a lot of home DIY projects myself as I can't afford to hire someone to do things that most people can do themselves if they would just try. This is my second project with switching a light fixture, but my first having to utilize a recessed light conversion kit like this. I readily admit I'm not great with spatial relations and manual dexterity, and for that reason I would love if the brand had a QR code and a video showing how to install this. There are plenty on YouTube, but so far the ones I've found use a different type of kit as opposed to this one that has three points of attachment. With that said, the printed directions are pretty good and they are somewhat helpful. My first step of turning off the power at my breaker box was already frustrating as my breaker was, of course, mislabeled. But eventually I found the right switches as I didn't want to get zapped. The self-tapping screws didn't work for me and wouldn't pierce through the metal can light, so I needed to first drill some holes so that the screws could go in. This also might be due to my cheap drill and my weak arms trying to work above my head at the top of a ladder, with one leg straddling my kitchen sink. I'm sure I looked like a real pro...but I digress. Additionally, the first time I installed the conversion kit, I put it about a half inch inside the can (see my first picture), not realizing this would make the screws that are meant to hold the pendant light two short to pass through the canopy of the light fixture. So, I had to completely start over and put the "triangular bracket" down as far as it can go. I guess my point is I wish instructions would not assume everyone knows these things because they're not necessarily common sense. Rather, the knowledge comes with experience having installed them before.Anyway, I do recommend this kit overall, and it has everything I needed to hang my new pendant light (besides a drill and maybe a screwdriver, a ladder, and lots of patience). I love that it comes with the metal ring to cover the edges of this big hole in the ceiling. However, the project is very frustrating if you have never done something like this before and I would suggest to the company to add a video or photos to the instructions if possible with more specifics like where exactly the "appropriate position" is for the parts to go.

I was getting ready to install this bracket conversion kit and noticed the 3 arms that attach to the inner house where missing which makes this useless very disappointing, made well and a great way to convert your ceiling light into a fixture or ceiling fan

I needed to do a simple conversion from a can light to a pendant. I saw these and got one through Vine and bought the other one outright. All seemed to be good, except as noted:1) The one I purchased was missing pieces (compare 1st and 2nd photos). Now, this wasn't a big deal to me, because I already had enough other bits to make this work, but if I hadn't, I would have certainly returned it. Especially for the price.2) Installation is a bit finicky and adjustments are kind of tricky to get right, so there was a bit of trial and error fitments before I was able to get it looking OK. (this may be different with different light fixtures, but I did try 2 different pendants and it was the same on both for me.)3) There is no way to hold the medallion in place while you attach the light fixture. I used painters tape to do it, but it slide moves around a little bit. It would have been nice to see some kind of attachment piece for that especially since the piece is steel and a bit heavy for tape to hold. (I do like the fact that it's steel, though. It's finished nicely and looks good.OK, so honestly, if both boxes included all the pieces this would be a 4 star. But I can't give it a higher rating because of that.
