I used a 2 ga install kit on a 4 ga amplifier and the wires barely fit, and looked sloppy. I looked this up and found these adapters. These adapters are very well made, and have sleeving to cover any exposed wire after they are installed. Very nice pieces indeed, and very professional looking. Went right on my amp, and worked perfectly.

I didn't even know these existed until stumbling across them. They're kind of like banana clips for your amp. I saw the review stating that they weren't long enough and got concerned but in my case they were just long enough to do the job, I have a good strong connection and am happy with the results. Love that it came with 2 sets as well since I'm running two amps. I will probably buy a set when I run my third amp as well.

They seem solid but if your terminals on the amp are angled don't bother unless you want to put spacers under your amp to use these.

Every car amplifier I have installed previously I have had problems getting a secure and reliable connection for the power and ground cables. Inserting the cable directly into their connectors was always a chore trying to get all strands in and usually ended up with the strands being splayed out and not making a full connection. And if you ever needed to temporarily disconnect the wires when you went to reconnect them it was even harder. These reducers let you not only use larger wire but to connect it more securely. And if you need to disconnect it doesn't mess up the wires because they don't have to be disconnected, you just remove the reducer from the amp. I was happy that there are two sets as I usually install a main amp along with a sub amp.

These are my favorite reducers. The package includes two pairs of these adaptors (really 4 of the same adaptor with two in red insulation and two in black insulation). These are solid reducers. It will let you take 4 gauge power/ground wire and plug it into an 8 gauge amplifier input. This allows you to run a larger power/ground wire and gives you greater surface area contact inside the terminal. The set screws in amplifiers can only be tightened so far without stripping, but since these are separate you can really crank down the set screw to hold the wire, and you don't have to use nearly as much tension to hold the reducer in the amp, preventing damage to the terminal or having a wire pop out and short. The reason I love these, besides the stellar build quality, is that they come with their own insulation. Most of the others comes with heat shrink wrap that you have to put on yourself and can block access to the set screw, meaning you can't tighten it later (and you always need to check set screws on a regular basis). With these there's no heat-shrinking required, you can check the tightness at any point, and you can remove these from the wire easily without having to cut the heat-shrink and putting new ones on.These are great reducers, and whenever I need more I'll gladly buy them. I highly recommend!
