After spending years of my hiking career heating water by headlamp light, I continued that process now that I'm camping with my son. The system works. Grab the Peak Refuel or Mountain House and boil the correct amount of water. The problem is that I learned how to cook with my dad using a Coleman 2 burner stove and now I can make some really fancy meals. I want my son to learn how to cook, not just boil water.These lamp holders make it possible for me to hang a couple GZ lights and illuminate and entire picnic table. Now I can use my 3 burner stove and start teaching my son how to actually cook well and safely. The get the job done well as long as your light source is light weight. You're not hanging a big lantern on the hook. You can make a much stronger setup with a broom handle and some hardware for less. It's Redcamp. Don't expect too much. For me, these holders work great. They're not super sturdy. They're a bit overpriced. They are versatile and light weight. I don't take them hiking, just camping. For me, they're good.

I really want to like this because of the table attachment and the abikity to adjust the length. Purchase 2 of these, the stakes are absolutely garbage. It's too flimsy and short to be able to hold the entire pole. Can't use it on a windy area too. Ours both broke before we can even use. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

It is flimsy. Would not support the weight of a Coleman lantern. It may work for lightweight lanterns.

Like that you can attach this to.a table or any place you want light up out of the way and don't need to.fix it in ground. Being collaspsible was a plus in compact storage and transport.

Received without stake, and used one. The threads are the worst quality and i cant refund it fortunately.
