About this item

  • LARGE REFLECTIVE AREA: Our large reflective surface area greatly increases visibility versus competing bands which have a small amount of reflective material because it is expensive. The bands are very bright, 360 degrees, and visible from at least 1,000 feet (305m) when light is reflected. Sold in a 2 or 4 band option.
  • HIGH-QUALITY: Made with 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material, a thin layer of neoprene, premium hook & loop fastener straps, and strong stitching.
  • COMFORTABLE: Made with a nylon exterior that is soft and will not irritate or scratch your skin. Featured in: Bicycle Quarterly, Bike Commuters, Campfire Cycling, Brit + Co, The Cycle, and Adventure Cycling.
  • USED FOR: Biking, Running, and Walking. Protects cyclist’s pants from bike chain and stays in place and is secure unlike other straps/clips that slip down or come apart.
  • FITS MOST ADULTS: Fits ankle sizes between 7.5-12.5 inches (19-32cm) in circumference, not including pants. If you have large ankles or plan to wear heavy/multiple layers, the ankle bands may be too short, please measure beforehand.

Product Description

Our large reflective surface area means more light is reflected back, making a person more visible (from at least 1,000 feet) and brighter to oncoming vehicles from a greater distance

I am a night time cyclist and in addition to lights, I wanted to add something else. These are a great add. They are wide enough to catch a lot of light and are very bright white when they do. I wish I had thought of these sooner. The length is more than long enough to wrap around my ankles.

These have fulfilled their purpose and more. I selected these as my first piece of visibility gear, and wear them for running and walking at night. I wanted something removable that I could wear with any jacket and it had to be effective. I considered others that involved bright colors as well, but along the way I realized that I just wanted the reflective part (for fashion reasons as well as functionality) and found these. The product pictures sold me, and I can confirm their real-life potential. As reported by everyone else, they are super-bright when lit up by headlights; the reflectivity and surface area are spot-on. It's pretty great the first time you wear them and all of a sudden cars give you a lot of room and consideration!I am small, but wanted these for wearing over jackets. I was prepared to repurpose these if the fitment didn't work out for me. The length of the ankle bands fit the bill and more. I wear these around my upper arms (over winter layers) without issue, and they also fit without layers. They also fit me around ankle and knee for biking without my pant leg rolled up (their intended purpose). If I wanted to wear them around my wrists (I don't especially), I could even add more velcro elements (they make a wristband size as well). These bands have a comfortable amount of stretch that grips without being too uncomfortably restrictive. I have noticed that the reflective surface is cracked from being stretched to fit (this happened right away) but hasn't flaked off, which I was concerned about a year ago (when they were new) but not so much a year later. So far, I have refrained from washing them and they have a few smudges that I would rather live with than mess with. Looking at them now, I guess I can vouch for them working even when dirty (they deserve a wash, though).I often have these bands in my pocket and pop them on if I'm caught out after dark. I also have blinky l.e.d. armbands because I thought they'd be more attention-grabbing without the need for headlights (or whatever) to hit them (I decided this once I started biking). The blinkers do achieve what I wanted, with the limitations of being useless in daylight and annoying me to death, even when worn pointing backward. The end result is that I often wear an owl band on one arm and a l.e.d. blinking band on the other. I turn on the blinker when I'm around car traffic, then turn it off once I'm less in harm's way (the bike path, track, quiet neighborhood etc) and let the owl band do the work, leaving me in peace. In short, these bands are exactly what I was looking for at an attractive price. All around, the owl bands are more utilitarian for me than the l.e.d. bands (though I do use both). These are worth every penny and I would not hesitate to replace them if needed. If you're in the market for something like this, I think that you've found the best reflectivity for your buck. There are no downsides to the investment, just take a tape measure and pick your size.

First off, these are by far the brightest reflective anything I've ever bought, and I've bought >20 wrist bands, arm bands, leg bands, vests, .... Photons apparently hate this material: every single photon that hits it immediately turns right around and heads back where it came from. You will be seen when you're wearing these. They're so bright you may be seen from space. :)Second, customer service can't be beat. I ordered both the the wrist bands and the leg bands, but only received the wrist bands. I contacted the vendor, Mark, and he sent the leg bands out within 12 hours of receiving my email. Later I had a problem with the reflective material separating from the neoprene on one one of the wrist bands, and Mark didn't just replace the one that failed, he sent me a whole new pair, and very quickly. So this is a low-risk purchase: if you have any issues, Mark will make it right for you.One thing I'm not fond of is that the hook portion of the hook and loop closure is too long. Unless the band fits perfectly around your leg, a good sized section of the hook portion will be exposed, and can snag on cyclists' lycra gear. I wish the hook portion was just an inch long. The 3" loop portion would still allow a couple of inches of flexibility re length. Also, I'm not sure why these have both extra long hook and loop closures and are made of stretchy neoprene. Both seem intended to allow the band to fit different diameters of legs + clothing, so I'm not sure why you need both. And the stretchy neoprene makes it much more likely that the relatively delicate reflective material will separate from it, as happened with 1 of the 4 bands I originally purchased. I'd prefer the fabric to not stretch to minimize the risk of failure, and just use the velcro to adjust the length. But since Mark backs up the product if it fails, this is a small deal.Overall, I'm happy with these. I believe they're the brightest reflective bands you can buy, so if you want to be seen, these will do the job.

I have used a variety of reflective and lighting gear for my nighttime running. I started out running with just a reflective vest. Then I added a headlamp so that I could see better. After getting hit by a minivan I swapped out the vest for a 3M reflective belt and added a blinky light on front and back. I've become a bit of a visibility prophet. I've even been know to give people the blinky lights off of my back! After about a season and a half with the reflective belt I noticed that the reflective striping was worn off in many places. So I found these and thought that I'd give them a try. I bought 2 pair - One set for the ankles and one set for the arms (around the biceps just above the elbow joint). They are pretty comfortable to the point of not even noticing they are on. The ones worn at the elbow joint can get a little warm when the temps are warmer. That is the only thing negative that I can say and that is really more of an observation than a complaint. Here's the biggest reason why I give them 5 stars. Vehicles seem to notice me on the road sooner and they are giving me more room on the road than ever before. I think that the reason is the movement of the legs and arms swinging along with the fact that the are cuffs are located at the edge of my body rather than along the center of my body.

Very pleased with these ankle bands. They are sturdily built yet very light, soft and comfortable to wear. Their considerable width provides a huge reflective area (they are black inside - if you wanted to wear them inside out). Have worn mine for a daily commute for about 5 months now and the velcro fastenings are still secure (I've found other brands come unstitched quite quickly). The velcro fastenings are about 9cm long so can accommodate narrow ankles or flared trousers (I'm not ashamed to wear them!). Mislaid my ankle bands for a day and missed them so much I ordered a second pair as a back-up. Highly recommended.
