All drummers know it: the famous "Crown" logo from REMO. For more than 60 years, the products of the leading manufacturer of drum and percussion heads have been considered the standard for quality, durability, sound and look. It is not for nothing that they are used in well over 80% of all drum sets worldwide. This is due to the enormous resistance and tuning stability of the material used (mylar), but also due to the fact that the Californian top brand carefully takes care to meet all conceivable needs of the drum scene with its developments. Almost of course, Remo is the first choice for all drum set players, be it in areas such as jazz, pop and rock, Latin, R&B, hip hop or heavy metal. But at least as well established are the skins in marching drums, in classic percussion or on world percussion instruments. Here everyone will find the right sound in first-class quality.

I tried this based on dimensions and Remo reputation only.I put it on and am very pleased with the base and tec tones. It looks good on my Egyptian mosaic inlay doumbec too.I ordered a second one as a back-up for this drum.Thank you Remo.

This doumbek head lives up to its name. The doum and tak tones are very clear and true to the resonant sound of the drum itself. It has the ringyness of a regular Skyndeep polyester head but, because this head is made of mylar, it does not have the sandpapery sound when you move your hand across the surface. I consider this head to be a top-quality plastic head - easily on par with Power Beat and Mitello, but unique in its own way.If you have a quality doumbek that can produce a clean resonance, I highly recommend this head as it will bring out the purity of the tones. Give this a shot - if I were the manufacturer, I would guarantee satisfaction.-Thomas

Wasn't deep enough. Broke my Doumbek's rim. Thanks for nothing and farewell, Remo.

The Remo Skyndeep is an ever reliable drum head for Middle-eastern drums. They are easy to fit and sound great. There is no stickiness that can be found with other plastic heads and the feel is closer to animal skin. Perfect for those who play clay animal skin drums and aluminium drums.

These drums are made in countries that use the metric system, and the US does not. The most common sizes in metric are 22 cm’s and 23cm’s. The nine inch head is the correct fit for a 23 cm Soumbaty size drum, and the 22 cm is the correct fit for a 8.75 drum. I like the Fish Skyn head for the sound. I have them on 2 of my doumbecks. They do need to stretch out a bit after you put them on and turn them up.
