I bought this as a birthday gift for 9 year old grandson. His eyes certainly lit up getting this robotic Bulldog out of the box. He loves it and all the "tricks" this dog can do. Grandson quickly figured out how to operate, entertain himself and Grandma, and recharge his favorite toy, Bulldog Buddy! The fact that it was on sale was a big plus even though I was planning on buying it anyway. Quality is exceptional and ease of operations Grandma approved.

The toy turned out larger than expected. It appears rugged although it hasn't been kid-tested.When unpacking, the first noticeable thing was a number of strands of white-blonde hair. I can't say whether it's from the packager, but it's possible it was a return thought to be unopened. The plastic shell seems prone to gather static electricity and therefore loose particles. If you have cats, your bulldog will wind up with cat hair.Except for programming, I tried most functions, which appear to work. It flipped onto its back once, but no harm done, all part of the show.An unusual feature concerns the dog's rechargeable batteries. Rather than plug in the dog for recharging, a user charges batteries externally and then plugs one into the bulldog's belly. The connector is a bit loose, so attaching is a little tricky. Unlike similar toys when rechargeables wear out and can't be easily replaced, these batteries can be replaced indefinitely. Indeed, the dog arrives with two batteries that can be swapped in minutes. So the tradeoff is a bit of inconvenience versus never having your dog die from lack of battery.One annoyance is that battery covers in both the controller and dog use a single screw that doesn't stay attached to the cover. Already I've managed to lose one of the tiny screws.

It was a great product, but the only concern I have about it is that it will not turn so whenever I go forward, it cannot go to the left or right you have to go through a lot of progress to turn once everything except that is very good. All the buttons work lights work everything is great

I actually got this for my 8 year old pitbull. She was feeling like an empty nester. She loves it! She bounces , plays with it, chases it as I use remote, and if I walk away, she GENTLY picks it up by it's head n carries it to the bed.
