I purchased the Arliegh Burke and Ticondoroga cruiser from another vendor, so when I saw the other two little boats in this series, the PLAN Type 055 destroyer and Type 054a frigate were available, I jumped on them! For about $20 a unit, they're a lot of fun for the money!THE ROSES: If you ignore the weird looking antennae, these little models do a surprisingly good job of resembling the real ships they're patterned after. Despite not having rudders, their use of twin screws gives them good maneuverability forward and reverse. Each transmitter pairs with its respective ship, so you can have several and do 'naval maneuvers' with your friends.THE THORNS: Small size means these are only good for use on completely flat and protected waters (ponds, pools, large bathtubs). I don't think they'd work very well in waves of any sizeTHE VERDICT: A lot of fun for not a lot of money. Recommend.
