Thoroughly tested this unit and it have proven very stable.Note: when changing or increasing the charging input, you may have to resync. Usually up arrow for a few seconds will do this. But When I increased the input during an outage. I had to reset the whole thing and resync. when I added 60A of charging from my car through DC to DC controller.

Very happy with this item works very well and a must have with a solar system it gives me all the information I need to make sure my batteries are all charged or if there is an issue. FYI you must conect all grounds to the shunt I had left the solar controller charging output negative connected directly to the battery and the system was not showing a positive charge wile solar panels were in use but if I started the generator it would show a positive charge and would then reset to 100% moved solar controlar charging negative connector to the shunt and now everything is working perfectly. Live and learn😎

As most know, all shunts/meters have their quirks, but if you set them up correctly, they will function as designed. This one works and does what it's supposed to. The Shunt is heavy duty and well built. The only complaint is forcing the plug in connector instead of allowing you to use your own wire with screw connectors.I saw a lot of complaints about the wire too short/long. I only needed six inches to put the meter on the board below the shunt, so I made my own. For those wanting to make their own custom wire, below is a link to a kit with the 5 connector plug and pins you need. It's pretty easy and you can use better wire to boot.https://www.amazon.com/Taiss-560PCS-Connector-Adapter-Housing/dp/B09ZTWCZ3K/ref=sr_1_7?crid=BZCFEIV4SLNH&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.8JxaUyEt7mrKW9NnDeZyHdUs6yZIyjL8cgWM53bUiLGzLN53OZ5Sp9vp4dOKU-jd1y_HTxHyskPsYNNLBh3reUIgtco6-_cZIHAx1CcaaDPnN91IJooNxWuZ5Kr4mfzWfOTYhArJCL9i268dIfKEUa3ziM7bhuKGwi3dcMu7KIUDl8fdOYFYUehEf3P_NhYveireXqSI0DhJQsxyhfyQ09u7Zme6wrAHzyTOu3_GtQbL79qIqYKO3evfWbq96lSuMqmlJS4cP2-VYoxwlTsmUY93bquUkm8B3kRka-UAAjw.h_1C4Y9Nq2pCMDDTjDKnG5rrl7ztsei6WbXvNKspDck&dib_tag=se&keywords=XH+2.54mm+Connector&qid=1734046774&sprefix=xh+2.54mm+connector+%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-7

This is a must have to your camper battery bank. It was super easy to install remotely and I love the Bluetooth. Now without installing a whole monitoring system, (which is better but harder and more invasive to install) I have an accurate power supply monitor with the app on my phone. WAAAAYYYY more accurate than the 4 little lights on the camper status panel.

If you throw your money straight in the garbage can now you will at least save yourself the time and heart break of getting Renogy's buggy hardware/software to work only to have it fail every time you need it most. I'm not a pro RV converter but I have split my career between troubleshooting IT and Electrical systems and there is nothing about this technology that should be over my head. That said all the Renogy equipment I have purchased for my van build has been a nightmare that I don't have the time to fully detail. I have had reliability issues with my Renogy charge controller, multiple models of system monitors and an inverter and my panels have never been able to deliver more than 65% of their claimed rating even in the most ideal conditions. The constantly updating app has never fully worked even once and is clearly prioritized to collect personal data so if your system isn't behaving when your off the grid and it logs you out forget about using it to troubleshoot. The Bluetooth connectivity is a joke. The latest kick in the **** is that my charge controller failed when my van was parked for a month and now my $1200 battery is shot. That was the one non-Renogy component in my system.I had several friends with less technical experience tell me to just get a packaged solution like a Jackery or Ankor and I said naaah, I got this. After several thousand dollars, dozens of hours, and multiple partially ruined weekend trips I am eating my words.

So we ordered this Renogy Battery Monitor for our travel trailer. Overall it's a nice unit, but it can be a bit frustrating to set it up. One issue we faced was the length of the shielded wire from the shunt to the monitor. It is only about 19.6 feet long and we needed to add another 16 feet to it. The wire is not something that you go and pick up at any big box store. It's a tiny 26AWG with a shield around it. But we discovered that Amazon also sells a 26 feet version of this exact wire. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082ZPGYHZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsSo we ordered the wire and sure enough it's the exact size and specs. as the Renogy wire. The only difference if that one end of the plug does not fit the Renogy. So, we used the end that fits the Renogy, then carefully cut the wire to the desire length and spliced it to the wire we had. It is important to take your time and be super careful when you cutting those tiny wires. It is best to solder them together and tape them good with electrical tape. Make sure you connect the shielded wired together too. Our works great and without any issues.

I am always a bit leery about electrical "stuff" but wanted a monitor for my solar set up. Despite connecting the shunt incorrectly twice (didn't have load and charge input on the correct opposite side as the battery, I finally managed to get it working. Works perfectly and is useful to know when I am net positive or net negative when charging and drawing current.

Works great. Installed on a fully enclosed mobility scooter to accurately determine amp hour capacity for resizing battery replacements required for the distance needed out of one charge. The only drawbacks are that the lugs are quite large for my application (max 20a) so I had to install new wire lugs to fit. Secondly, the manufacturer doesn’t offer a surface mounting option which I need, so I have to fabricate a custom solution.Compared voltage and amperage readings against a good portable power meter and found accurate within 2%, good enough for my needs. Disappointed that the box it came in say’s assembled in China as I thought it was American made. I have other products from Renogy and am impressed with the quality so I bought this meter. Hoping for the same…
