So I have an Icom id 51a with two batteries. One is a thin flat back and smaller, the other has a large bump on the back and is larger and last longer. Both batteries fit the charger with no issue. The radio also sits nicely in the charger. The reason I like this charger is it can hold a battery with the radio being attached. So I can put one battery on charge while the other battery is on my radio and being used.

Bought this charger and 2 hi-capacity batteries for my Icom IC705. It worked just fine charging the batteries. A whole lot cheaper than the charger from ICOM.

I ordered a 2nd one after the first one failed. It arrived and had the same problem. The LED turns green after just a couple of seconds and will not charge a depleted battery. And yes, I'm sure this charger is for the batteries and Radio that I own, and yes, I'm sure the battery is depleted when I attempt to charge it.I have the original battery supplied for the ID-52 as well as a battery from this vendor for my ID-52a. The original Icom (non-cradle) charger does charge them both just fine.With as many good reviews as are posted here, there must be bad manufacturing run, because I received 2 bad ones. I'll leave it as 2 *'s as the vendor has taken both bad ones back.***Original Review***This charger is cheaper than the Icom original **by far**. BUT, the first one I received did NOT work upon arrival. This charger does not work on the original battery or the new battery I purchased. Both batteries will charge with the original wall wart supplied by Icom, so I'm certain it is not the batteries. I am in the process of returning it, so will update when I receive the replacement. I have given 2 *s because they will replace for free.

The product arrived in a reasonable time frame and works fine. Icom's fast charger is 2 amps and this is only 1 amp, but is still faster than the stock slow charger. So, for the price it's fine. It is made in China, and in all my reviews of products, I point that out as a negative, due to my own experiences with Chinese products over time. However, for the price, it does work and given that, you won't be disappointed. Just don't imagine it will equal the quality of a quality Japanese charger over time. The radio (an ID 31a Icom) also fits nicely into the charger with the battery attached, with both the stock Bp-271 and the thicker Bp-272 enhanced reserve pack.
