Not sure why they give you 4, because only the 2 intake valves get them, but they work well. The engine I worked on had warped heads due to overheating, and blew a head gasket due to the cooling fins being packed solid with debris from over 20 years of use. Compression was very good, so engine was worth saving. I "Machined"the heads, by circular hand rubbing them with 400 then 800 sandpaper on a heavy, flat piece of glass, and brass wire wheeled the carbon off the valve stems and heads.Pro Tip: The Kohler Service manual says to remove the cooling shroud and clear the cooling fins once a year. I doubt that one out of 10,000 people do this, but it is necessary to avoid overheating. Kohler very annoyingly uses 5 and 6 mm bolts to secure the shroud, so keep track of this. Also, use only full synthetic oil, and premium gasoline (93+) with stabilizer.
