I plugged it in, the temperature control lights up and displays different temperatures, but the rock does not feel warm.UPDATE: I was sent a new rock, it works way better, and Gary loves it! He spends most of his time underneath it in his moist hide.

I bought the device to provide heat to my tortoise. The unit was easy to set up and control. The problem is the unit did not get very hot even when I put the temperature at 118° it was only registering around 74°. This unit does not work.

I love that this has a thermostat, to regulate the temperature.However, it would be better if the thermostat controller was nearer the end of the plug, because it’s too close to the heating rock and meant we have to put it into the aquarium. NOT ideal.The feed trough is very shallow, but works for small insects.

This product worked as advertised for 3 months. Our bearded dragon appeared to enjoy it on cooler days. When unplugging it to clear the tank one of the prongs of the plug fell out. Now the unit it unusable. Disappointing
