  • High Temperature Protection: The reptile heat mat has a built-in temperature sensor. The heating pad will stop heating when the temperature reaches the critical value of 122°F/50°C.
  • FAST Heating: The reptile heating pad has 24 watts of power! With 8 more watts than other heating pads of this size on the market, it heats to 113°F/45°C in 1 minute.
  • PID: Intelligent PID can accurately control the heating temperature, making the heating pad work more efficiently and stably and extending the service life of the heating pad.
  • Reptile Thermostat: Controls the temperature of your reptile's habitat, providing a comfortable temperature that helps keep them healthy and active. Thermostatic control range is 20°C to 45°C (68°F to 113°F).
  • Temperature Detection: The built-in temperature sensor of the heating pad detects the heating temperature in real time, and the external temperature probe can detect and display the temperature near the probe.

We bought one of these for our senior(19) cat who has been searching for warm spots to lie down over the winter. Plenty warm in the house but much like older humans, feeling warm seems to be different than being warm. We keep the house at about 75 in the winter because we are indulgent like that. So, we looked into regular human heating pads but they almost all have timer shut offs and get too warm even on a low setting for a set-and-forget type of use. These heating pads are perfect because they have that PID feature with a remote temp sensor. So, we put the pad(with its adhesive protective backing still on Raja's favorite resting pad, put a heavy towel(think plush bath towel) over that, plugged it in and set it at 90 degrees. With the temp probe right on the heating pad surface(sticky side up so it is setup just like it would be on the bottom of a terrarium) and the towel over that, the cat doesn't even know it is there. She does her two circles(she is a Maine Coon and has always been very dog-like as many of them are) and settles down. Now, here is where that PID feature comes into play and is very important for set-and-forget peace of mind. The PID works on an algorithm that "learns" how much energy to push into the heating pad to get the probe to read the preset temp. What happens is the PID starts at full power and as it gets close to the preset temp it start reducing the power. Once preset temp is reached power is shut off the heating pad and a cooling cycle starts. The PID algorithm recognizes how much temp is lost over time and starts ramping up the power to produce heat "remembering" how fast it heated up the last time(in this description, the first time) it heated up the pad and probe. So this cycle goes on for a few minutes and the PID system learns how much energy(a percentage is shown on the controller screen) is needed to keep the probe temp at the preset. This way the system isn't just sitting there with the heating pad on HIGH(or MEDIUM or LOW) either giving too much heat or not enough. Now for the best part... When the cat lies down on the heating pad area, obviously her body heat is going to affect how much energy the PID needs to deliver to the pad to keep that probe at the preset. So the PID can now deliver less energy but keep the pad at the same temp. This way there is much MUCH less chance of anything getting too hot. Don't want the kitty getting roasted or the towel getting too warm or anything like that. I left the adhesive protector on for two reasons. One is to keep the thing from sticking to stuff but also as a way of detecting if there have been any heat range run-aways. If it gets to hot that adhesive is going to get slimy/gooey and checking it every day for the first week and then every few days since it has not overheated in the slightest. The cat loves it and has pretty much given up on her other warm spots since they are NOT as warm as this is now. Summer is upon us now so I am probably going to turn the thing off altogether but if you are in a cooler climate or want one for similar applications, by all means, give it a try. We got a second one for our other cat as she has her own favorite sleeping spot. Needless to say, she loves it too. These are DEFINITELY the best thing I have found to provide that extra bit of comfort and joy to the kitty that likes a cozy warm spot to sleep. It would work just as well for other critters too.The digital control display is very easy to work with and provides preset temps by single degree and a "live" display of how much power is being sent to the heating pad and the probe's current temp and preset temp.DEFINITELY RECOMMEND and would DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN as we already have. Probably going to be a go to gift for friends and family with pets that like to find cozy places to sleep/lounge.

I wanted to have a way of keeping the temperature stable for some electronic instruments in the shop. Most heaters were super expensive..but this unit worked fine. My devices wont even work in cold conditions outside. Yet this heater keeps 70 deg all the time.I would say it would be nice if the heating pad had better glue on it for vertical applications. However this can be made up for with some tape.

I bought 2 of these in different sizes. This small one to warm a 10 gallon terrarium for my crested gecko and a larger one for a tub of Dubia roaches. Neither one will warm more than a couple degrees above ambient. I even insulated the back side of them hoping they would get a bit warmer but no luck. I've had both of them set at 80 degrees for over a month and they just run non stop and stay maybe 2-3 degrees over room temp. I've had other heat pads of the same sizes that have no issues like this. Unless you are trying to heat an object or something, these are probably not going to work for you.

The thermostat and heating pad seem to be working correctly, just a little bit disappointed by the packaging as it was pretty difficult to remove the adhered heating pad from the box (I had to cut the box open to take it out). Overall my ball python seems to be happy with his new temperature controlled heating spot.

So the pad itself works great, built in thermostat works as it should but the only problem I'm having, which seems to be the same with everyone else, is that the adhesive sucks. It keeps peeling off which is annoying to have to fix every day. I have to get heat resistant foil tape to keep it on

It works awesome for my application. I'm using it in a cat box as a heat source. I have 3 outside cats that are less than a year old. I built a box and insulated it with 1/2 inch styrofoam and old moving quilts. I wrapped the heater in an old towel. I do live in the Florida panhandle so we don't have terrible winters. It will occasionally get into the 20's. The heater does a great job keeping the box warm. We recently had a 30° night and the box was at 55°. The kitties were comfortable.

I used it for my camper bathroom sink, for the plumbing compartment so it don't freeze in winter.
