VCRs are mostly extinct, but if you are one of those who still have one, getting a head cleaner is important to keep the thing running (assuming you ever intend to watch movies on it) and keep it from chewing up your tapes. I have some tapes (like the original Star Wars movies and The Godfather Saga (the movies in chronological order) that I like to watch from time to time that will likely never be released on DVD and would be very hard (if not impossible) to replace on VHS. So, this works well to keep the thing in working condition.
It cleans the VCR head and tape path. This is a dry system and while they don't always work quite as well as the wet systems, it does do a good job and is much easier to use and with less risk of damage and the VCR can be used right away without the need for drying time that many of the wet systems require. If the VCR is just worn out, then this cleaner will not do much about that. Cleaning it may help a little with tape travel or picture quality but it is not going to repair the issues so while the VCR may operate a little better of a while, it will still need to be be properly repaired or replaced. You may notice that the tape counter does not change when the cleaning tape is being used but that is due to the VCR not seeing actual VCR tape on the heads but the cleaner is still moving on the head and tape path and is still doing its job. Just follow the directions and you should be good to go.

This cleans VCR heads quickly and effectively. I've only used it a couple times so far but it's already fixed the poor display quality of a VCR I bought to resell (and couldn't return). It's paid for itself already and I have a lot more uses left! I also like that you can track how many times you've used it on the tape.

Works perfectly! I have an old VCR that was having some issues with reading the VHS tapes, this cleaned it up nicely and now it works perfectly! would buy again.

I bought this to get my old VCR going to salvage some old home videos. At first all of my old VHS tapes were coming through as all blue. Only visible during rewind and fast forward. After running this product through. I ran it 3 times out of pre-cautionary measure. After that my home video tapes were running through clear again. Some of my tapes themselves must have been dirty. But I was able to salvage tapes from 1988-89. 1993. And 2003 after using the product on my VCR. And my entire family is super thankful. I was skeptical of the product... Being dry cleaning. And to be fair the wet cleaners probably work better and last longer. But it was a good fair price. And my product came in fast. And most of all.... It fixed my problem. So it gets a 4 out of 5 stars from me. I do wish the cleaning process went through longer... Longer tape. And Its not wet. That's why it gets a 4. But it's still a good quality product! I think I paid 7 or 8 bucks. Fair deal.

A throwback item - when's the last time someone needed a VHS head cleaner?? Well, I have a couple of VHS machines, and one's heads became clogged due to a shedding tape. Ordered this, hoped for the best, used it, and it did the job. Back to dubbing! (after discarding that old tape, of course!)

Bought one of those old TV VCR combo from a yard sale. Picture was very distorted. Disassembled the TV myself to try to figure it out. Sprayed the dust out but nothing.Cleaning the heads was the next step I found. This tape seemed to be the most convenient product. was confused the tape only played for like 2 seconds but when I popped another tape in, picture fully clear.Product does legitimately work. If it doesn't work, odds are it's another problem with the VCR and not the heads

To be honest I was not going to buy this because I have used this type of product in the past quite honestly they just simply a waste of money.However, this worked blood great. I have not used my VCR for years and the first tape I put in got chewed up so that's why I bought this cleaner, and I'm very glad I did.Says in the instructions you only need to use it once however because I have not used my VCR for such a long time I used it three times to clean the heads. Then popped in a tape and it worked.So to sum up a bloody good VCR cleaner.

Pensavo di non poter più utilizzare due videoregistratori perché entrambi segnalavano la necessità di pulire le testine. Ebbene, con questa cassetta sono tornati perfettamente funzionanti e vecchie registrazioni possono di nuovo essere convertite in digitale!
