So far I really like this clothesline. Will have to see how well it holds up as I have only been using it for about 2/3 weeks. It is much sturdier than the last ones that I have bought from the "big box" stores so hoping that it is going to hold up longer. Was very easy to install and is easy to pull out and let in which I do just about on a daily basis unless it is raining. Really helps the electricity bill and keeps the house cooler in the summer not running the dryer. I am in GA and it can get pretty hot and muggy in the summer so this really helps.

I wasn't sure about this at first-I'd never used a retractable clothesline. Put bluntly, I love this- yes it does sag a bit with a full load, but what clothesline doesn't? Make sure you wrap a section of line around the pieces on the bottom of the casing to minimize this. I had poles installed specifically for this purpose-anyone with a drill and level should be able to attach the unit. The line pulls out and retracts easily, and is it ever long!

So it was super easy to put up and hold up very well. My only issue is that it does sagg almost immediately when you start adding wet clothes. A single load of my toddler's clothes had it from a foot above my head, down to my chest area. Great product, but disappointing stretch.

I purchased this clothesline for a number of reasons. 1) I previously had one that had only 1 line....but I tore it out of the socket with the sun visor on my John Deere Lawn tractor! :-( 2) I needed a replacement but needed more item space. This one has 2 lines! 3) We have two rentals and I wanted to supply my renters with a way to dry their clothing and beach gear on sunny days! It works great for all of us. Since I had had one previously here are a few tips you might find helpful: 1) don't connect/pull and attach your lines until you get ready to use. 2) Store your clothes pins in a hanging clothes pin bag. 3) Once your items/clothes are dry; remove your pins and retract your lines until future use. If you leave your lines extended and your pins in place on the lines the weather will make them mold/mildew. This will extend the life of your lines and pins. I highly recommend this product! You will be glad you purchased! Great Product!

I don't like to use my electric dryer if I can avoid it as I am a cheep old man!! I line dry my laundry but in the winter all they do is freeze into a plank.I bought this retractable line so I can put it in my basement and dry mostly undergarments and socks which dry fast and are lightweight. I have not tried drying jeans or sweatpants on it yet as I have many pair of them and as I seldom go anywhere they don't need laundering often. I would think that a prop in the middle of the line may have to be installed if heavyweight clothing were to be hung on the line.So far so good but as I have only used it for a few weeks longevity cannot be determined at this point and I don't retract it between uses so how the internal spring holds up is anyone's guess. It's not that expensive and as I am old it might just outlast me but if it breaks I can buy another!

This is exactly what I was looking for! It was incredibly easy to install. I put it outside and attached the base to one tree and the hooks to another. The lines do tend to get a little slack in them after a heavy load but they are easy to adjust and tighten. There are two lines that come from the base to attach to the (included) hooks. The lines run parallel to each other and are about 2 inches apart. I’ve never had a problem with the line falling or losing its’ grip. I don’t have it extended to the full length and can easily fit a large load of laundry between the two lines. It very easily retracts and I’ve had no problem with it fairing the weather so far.

Works fine, I wasn’t expecting much but it seems a challenge to find a retractable clothesline that isn’t junk these days. Have been using this about twice a week for about 8 months and the clip broke leaving my clothes on the dirty ground. For the price, this should not be happening. These should be metal clips.

This has all features one could hope for in such a device. Solid build, reliable components/features, and decent appearance. The retraction mechanism works good (hold onto that line and walk it back). I can hang 20+ shirts, pants, garments between the two lines and its not even fully extended. As long as you give plenty of tension to the line when you pull it out, it will not slack too much because the line is of good material. The included clothes pins are just okay, but secondary to the overall package and nice as an added bonus, but you'll eventually want to buy some that are better (try finding a plastic model made in Italy...)
