They cover the gap between the sprinkler head and the ceiling or wall, providing a finished aesthetic look while ensuring proper activation of the sprinkler head. Without a properly fitting escutcheon, heat and smoke can rise above the ceiling or escape into a wall, delaying the activation of the sprinkler head and potentially jeopardizing early detection and life safety. It is essential to install the correct escutcheon for the specific sprinkler head model to meet NFPA code requirements.

Most commonly found in drywall or ceiling tiles, the two or three-piece recessed escutcheon provides a finished look with its outer ring covering the gap and its inner ring sitting at a specific depth to encircle the recessed sprinkler head.

I'm using this differently than normal. I have a toilet connection where the previous owners actually plastered the compression fitting partially into the drywall. It's only about 1/4inch into the wall, so this worked perfectly to give a nice finish appearance without having to cut open the wall to add more copper pipe.

I liked the fit and easy to install. I wish they were made of metal, but still a good fit and looks like metal once installed in the ceiling. I highly recommend this product.
