When you look for HANS devices, this is the best option for this price point. I like that it isn't a huge horse collar. This is the design that is held down by your harness making it easier to get in and out of the car with a full cage.

I actually have the prior version of the Necksgen but my comments apply to the features shared with this version. The good news is the necksgen is much easier to put on or take off, in or out of the car, than is the HANS Sport 2. I'm tight in my car but have no trouble gearing up with the necksgen while in the drivers seat.Compared to the HANS this unit works better in cars with standard passenger seats. A racing shell seat has extra room where the headrest is to allow for your helmet. A street seat lacks this space. Add the tall ducktail on back of a HANS device to the thickness of a helmet and you'll find your head pushed forwards sitting in a street seat. If you lean your seat back more to compensate you'll find yourself rolled forward with extra force on your neck and your shoulders may be unsupported. Your body shape and car ergonomics may vary.Where the necksgen until falls short is in head mobility. To turn your head hard to one side the strap has to slide through the D-ring where the strap clips to your helmet. It doesn't really want to do this without a lot of force. When trying to look far through a tight corner the necksgen binds up, limiting how far through the turn I can see. It turns into a pretty big annoyance. If you are in a car with street or stock seats then you can make a case for the necksgen over the HANS. If you have racing specific seats then I suggest the HANS is the better unit.Whichever you prefer, do get and wear one.
