Concentrated Formula Will Treat 6 Quarts of Any Oil Type
REV-X ZDDP ZINC Oil Additive and Treatment will treat up to 6 quarts of any type of oil. Works great in manual transmissions, gear boxes, rear ends and any other type of oil lube where Zinc was the primary ingredient to prevent metal to metal wear.
How Does ZDDP / ZINC Work in Engine Oil?
As ZINC (ZDDP) is heated it creates a film that coats the engine parts with an anti-wear layer, think of it as a sacrificial layer that will wear away preventing wear on your vital engine parts. This is very beneficial for flat tappet motors, which have as the name suggests a flat lifter. When the engine is running the cam lobe is in constant contact with the flat surface of the tappet. This creates high temperatures due to the friction between the two. If the protective film created by the ZDDP was not present this heat and friction would wear away at the lifters and cam leading to engine failure.
ZDDP is Vital for Engine Break In
Breaking in an engine is vital to ensure proper sealing of the piston rings as well as setting the lifters to a new cam. This process will create a lot of heat and wear as engine parts wear away to fit the small areas that machining and manufacturing are just not able to fit up exactly. With Zinc these areas will be treated with a sacrificial layer preventing more wear than is needed to break the engine in.

Used it for a ticking noise with my Jeep. Added 1 full bottle for 6 quarts of oil. Within a half hour of driving, ticking went away. Flat tapped heads on my Jeep need Zinc. Impressed. Worth the money.

Made the engine quieter and gave me about 2 to 3 more mpg, Since the engine takes 10 quates of oil I use 2 bottles when I change the oil. This truck has only ever had Royal Purple oil 15/40 oil since it was new in 2005 and 75000 miles later still going strong.

I used it with my recent oil change in my Chevelle and it seems to help the flat tappet lifters and I’ve noticed the car accelerates much better

This is not something that is going to increase mileage or work miracles to extend oil changes by thousands of miles. It is simply an additive to add back luibicating properties to newer synthetic oils that were removed to placate the EPA nazis, no matter the harm to your engine. These materials are especially beneficial in the valve train and piston skirt areas that have a high metal to metal contact.
