Nice, sturdy replacement lock, with all metal parts, to replace the original lock from 1974, where the plastic pull had broken. While it said it worked for left and right opening doors, it came the wrong way, and there were no instructions in the insert for how to reverse it. I had to send a question online, and once I received the reply, it was easy to disassemble and reassemble for use in the opposite direction.

I wanted to replace existing pocket door hardware with some that locked and also had the little hook to help pull the door out of the pocket. These are exactly right, and look good. It was a bit of a pain cutting the correct openings since my openings from the previous hardware were a little smaller, so it took a lot longer than in the video. Also, in the video it shows having to cut a spot to swing the back end of the mechanism, but they must have changed the interior a bit because one no longer needs that swing space to be added, which made it a little easier. Maybe it's because of all the retrofitting, but it's still a little difficult to lock, and getting the bracket just right in the wall where the lock drops was pretty tricky. Take the time, measure twice, and it should be fine!

This pocket door lock is great. I have an old pocket door. Most of the newer locks a slightly smaller. I found this lock and the size is PERFECT!!! I'm so glad that this size is available. The lock and the strike place fit right into the existing opening. Be careful to screw each side of the lock "evenly". In other words, screw each side of the lock a little at a time to tighten up. I am so glad I bought this product. I am very satisfied with this product!!!

Main problem: when the door is open, the drop-down pulling mechanism won't come down. When the door is fully hidden in the wall, that means that it's impossible to close it. Two workarounds: 1) leave the latch out, so you can pull on that to close the door; 2) fish in the lock with a flathead screwdriver and pry out the pulling mechanism. Two problems with 1): a) I'm forced to remember to do that each time; b) if I close the door fully with the latch out, and I'm on the exterior, the latch will catch on the jam and I'll be locked out. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the design or the manufacturing. Unfortunately, this is the only sliding door lock that I could find on Amazon that claims to accommodate 1 1/8 doors.I had this product professionally installed by a reliable carpenter who has worked for me for years.

Our tiniest beagle figured out how to push the pocket door out of the way and get into my studio. This lock is a bit finicky to switch sides for and the company is useless for customer service (the woman I got sounded like she was at home cooking and barely understandable). I had a bit of retrofitting to do and am a millwright so it comes somewhat easily. All in all a solid lock just know if you need to switch the side the lock is on you’ll be left on your own to figure it out.

Exactly what We were looking for, 3-1/4†pocket door handles are not as common in stores in our area so it is sure nice to have Amazon for shopping. This door set is just as good quality as any we have seen.
