Does everything it claims and fits well but for my money this one is WAY overpriced for a basic paper filter. The Mfg. is making a killing on something that should be priced about 1/2 to 2/3 of the listing .... but they about the only game in town so we're stuck with them ....

I have a 12 gallon Ridgid blower/wet/dry shop vac. This filter was a perfect fit replacement. Quick shipping too. The box the filter came in also showed all the other available filters with the part number, this was very useful. I added a picture of it in case you've been looking for the specific filter for your Ridgid shopvac. These fit the 5-20 gallon vacs. A little pricey for a filter but they tend to last a while. I recently ordered the Hepa and wet filter now that I had the part numbers. As far as quality, I'm impressed. They seem very rugged as far as filters go. I received the wet filter today and it's just as good of quality. Hope this helps.

This item appears to be an OEM product, based on the box it came in and the appearance of the item itself. Installation was a little tight, but I carefully pushed and pulled all the way around the rubber gasket with my fingers (I don't recommend using any tool that might damage the gasket) as I kept a gentle pressure on the cylinder, and just when I was about to give up and put it back in the box ... the gasket slipped over the lip and the filter was in place. So patience and care while installing the filter is a necessity. On the the other hand, the tight fit makes for a good seal between the filter and the underside of the vacuum's top, so that's a good thing. Then just screw on the retainer nut (you did keep that when you removed the old filter, didn't you?), and you're good to go.

Purchased this as a Ridgid replacement filter for my Ridgid shop vac. Other reviewers commented that it was not as advertised and not a Ridgid product. But, in my case it was exactly as advertised and WAS for Ridgid. Fit right on to my vac and the carton was marked a Ridgid.Was pleased with the construction and the fabric seems sturdy enough for this type use. Works great in my vac so far. It actually appears to be better than the previous Ridgid filter I bought at Home Depot. I am happy and do recommend this unit.
