This is a quality mount for videography and photography when you have your own studio space and can permanently attach it to a wall. With today’s technology most consumer/prosumer lights are lightweight enough to monitor it without worrying about the rated maximum limit. Still follow the recommendations. It’s been awhile since I had it so I don’t know if it even came with paperwork with the ratings on it. This is a wonderful addition to my kit.

Got this to prop up a big and heavy flash and glow ez box.I didn’t think k it would hold but I was wrong. The mount once out on with heavy duty screws is amazing.Easy to use with the extenders and can be places and moved around to where you want it to point. Keeps my floor free of a photo stand.

The product’s description is not accurate, it is not strong enough to support 2.5lbs diffusing light

This is an excellent arm for video equipment use. A nice addition to my film studio for lighting or a monitor. HIghly recommend.

Short, Sweet, and Simple Review. This is exactly what I have been looking for. Installation and mounting this were very easy for me to do. I didn't have any issues with the hardware during installation. I wouldn't mount this on an area without wall studs as it is hefty enough to not be held properly by screw expanders/ wall anchors. The features as far as angles and movement of this device are great, and I definitely am glad I found and ordered this product.

This is a great boom for a microphone, camera, light, or similar. If stability is what you are looking for - this might be the ticket, since it is designed to wall-mount, not mount to your desk. If it's mounted to your wall, it shouldn't be affected by your desk shaking. It's working out for me, in any case - having it mounted NOT to my desk is the way to go.It's nice and well-built, with both 1/4-20 and 3/8" threads. It'll also easily support far more weight than most - I haven't tried to find or measure the limits, but it can handle quite a bit of weight.

Camera/light stands are expensive if you want something high quality. I have one stand that cost more than double what this is. And while I love it, it requires me to mount it to my desk. Unfortunately, if I am using my desk in the standing position, the camera will shake and wobble. This solves that problem entirely! For reference, I have a Sony A6700 mounted inside of an Elgato ring light. I absolutely love this setup with my existing stand, but again- it shakes. So when I saw this, I knew exactly how to solve my problem. I am going to move my desk and mount his to a nearby wall and voila! Everything is right in the world (or at least my office). This holds both of those just fine, and the only way the camera is shaking now is if I hit it or we have an earthquake. My one complaint is that they clearly want you to install this into studs. That's fine, except I don't know any house with with 6" wide studs. My solution is going to be screw one side of these into a stud and screw the other side into the heaviest duty toggle bolts or drywall anchors that I can find. With 4 screws on the one side into a stud, I should have no issues with this remaining stable. The locks on it work very well, the adjustment is great, and again: this thing is ROCK SOLID. BONUS: because the entire assembly can rotate, you can also use this for an overhead camera for all those unboxings or console mods you do!
