Product description says "replacement for series regulator" but doesn't actually say they "it is a series regulator" anywhere.Anyways it's a shut type MOSFET RR, which would run cooler than original SCR by shifting thermal load to the stator, making it more likely to burn out, especially in applications where stators already thermally stressed and burning out, YMMV.

The price is right for a series style regulator rectifier. The packaging came saying MOSFET but I contacted customer support and they indicated it was indeed a series. I don't have the capabilities to test it so I'll have to trust them. I've been using it for ~500 miles with great success. No faults on 90F days at 90% humidity in NH. The red looks great on the bike. I mounted it below the seat because it wouldn't fit in the original location.
