Do some test runs with the more coarse stuff. This stuff cut a lot faster than my old grits so I had to adjust some things. Feels a lot like the sandblasting substrate to be honest. I was a bit thrown off with the paper and straw bits mixed in as well. Though that was just picking out the bits from the scoop. The materials were well graded and having the whole set adds to the variety of things to be polished and cleaned. For the quantity of each step provided, I'll happily be running those tumblers for most of the year. Having the materials scoop in the shape of a shovel makes me laugh every time I use it. Works fine to weigh each batch dose. Just don't expect accuracy without a scale.

Product: I’m only on stage 3 of 4 of the tumbling, with only the main polishing stage to go but my stones already look amazing. I’m sure stage 4 will be just fine (I will update this if not). Package also came with a cute little shovel (spoon).Service: my package originally shipped with 2 bottles of ceramics instead of 1 bottle of ceramics and 1 bottle of pellets. Amazon was no help at all so I contacted Komestone directly. Anne was extremely helpful and immediately shipped a new bottle of pellets no questions asked, and didn’t even request the extra ceramics back. They’ve guaranteed my 5* rating and loyalty with their service alone.

These grits cover steps 1 through 4 for tumbling rocks.Do not try to use this until step 4 is done right. This grit was just what I was looking for, it added weeks to the process but the results were worth it.I recommend this product for rock tumblers

Easy to use containers and the little shovel is nice to use too.

Works well in the first 3 grits, 1-3. Grit 4 1500 does nt seem to do a great job on the polishing stage, but we bought an 8000 grit and works great

This is a pretty average refill kit, but they do a nice job in the presentation. I appreciate the inclusion of the re-usable ceramic and plastic pellets, however there are no instructions, so you'll need to consult the ad for the amounts of media used for each step - this should be addressed on the labels (I just wrote it with a marker on the jar). The include a shovel-shaped scoop, although a table-spoon scoop would have been more appropriate. In the reviews I noted some confusion about the '2 tbs per pound for the first three steps, and 1.5 tbs per pound for the final step'. The confusion seems to stem from the mention of weight - the media from the last steps weigh less than the media from the first two steps, that's why you see the weight discrepancies. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

I needed some "beach glass" from a couple of broken bottles I have, and this grit is working well (I am on the 3 run) to smooth out the glass, and take the pieces towards a good polish. In fact it's working so well I am going to put some river rocks in next and take them to the highest polish I can. I found some items with a metal detector and threw them into the tumbler and was super pleased at how well the rust was removed. I think the more I consider how to use these different grits the more work I can save and more cool items I'll have for projects including making jewelry. Really love these grits for my projects!
