My older RIGID 4.5 HP wet/dry shop vacuum switch failed, and after looking around, this is the exact fitment and voltage, and because it is a recessed toggle, it will not break off like the original switch. Remove the shop vac top, unscrew four screws, and pop off the (black) top, and the plastic spring detents easily bend in and remove the terminal connection. Reconnect the switch, click-lock into place... reattach the four screws, boom, job done, working as good as new.

The original switch got broken during a move. This replacement fit perfectly and made the compressor like new. Easy install and works perfectly.

It's a nice, common size switch you would find in most of today's electric devices. Pins were a bit soft and bent without much force. It also sparks fiercely when turning your device off. The specs are identical with the switch I removed, so the sparking is a head-scratcher. The rim has a rather large shoulder to squeeze itself tightly in it's hole. The arms are a little soft but it holds well enough. Anyhow, it fixed my bench grinder. I'm glad it worked.

After searching high-and-low, I found this switch to replace a failed part in a 40-year-old Smith Victor photoflood lamp fixture I use in studio and product photography. I know, I know...this is kinda off-beat and obscure, but these fixtures are just great for their intended purpose, you and still get the ECT lamps for them, and sometimes there is just no-replacing hot-lights when trying to get just the right shot while photographing something, especially on film (which you can also still buy, and it's making a resurgence in popularity because film "sees" things differently than digital stuff does, and resolution is often better). Now that I know what I need to maintain these lights, I can buy more to repair other failures. Nice that they are a common-part for lots of other applications.
