A bit on the pricy side, but you really get what you pay for. This is my second one. First one is for my DAW which is my MBP, and the second one is for my JDXi.I tried the cheapo Pyle one but that comes with a plastic top that flexes and the thing is just too big for what I wanted to use for. It's a good table for misc items but for my electronics like my computer and instruments, I'm going wit this Roland for certain.

This is a nice heavy duty stand. I’m really glad I purchased it. My 17†MacBook Pro sits on it perfectly without waiver. No more setting my laptop far from my drumming position!

This is not like many common tube stands. It is a bit heavier, sturdier and has a better finish. I was initially hesitant because of the price. Not disappointed once the item was received and assembled.

Awesome stand for live performance! It definitely has served me well when using it for MainStage and it has truly made my set up much more efficient.

I like this a lot, it's easy to move around and holds the computer secure while moving it. I feel it could be better though. In general, I feel like this stand would be better if it had been designed by a drum hardware manufacturer -- problem is, no drum makers offer something like this. If it were, I'm positive it would be a lot quicker to set up, less easy to lose parts, less easy to damage, and a lot easier to port & store.1. The matte black finish is sexy looking but it shreds paper towels. This makes it difficult to clean.2. The lower tripod is steady, but tubular legs are always destined to be crushed. Double-braced would be better.3. The lower tripod is difficult to fold and unfold because the matte black finish grips the collar -- even though its got a nylon insert, it still grips.4. The flat-top portion is great, but if it bends you're SOL. It should be a) detachable from the neck, or b) foldable somehow. It's just too vulnerable during porting & movement. Not to mention it would be a lot easier to fit in a bag if it folded.5. The screw mechanism for attaching the flat-top should be quick-release instead of screw-washer-thumbwheel. It's just too easy to lose one of these parts when moving. Don't get me wrong, the two-screw arrangement holds the thing steady which I like, but removing that screw to fold up the flat top takes time and its too easy to drop that washer and watch it roll away.6. The screws holding the laptop down are fantastic. They should be quick-release instead of thumbscrews.ed. so i've bought another one of these, i stripped the thumb screw on the vertical extender tube. don't over-tighten these, you'll regret it.this newer model has a different finish now, it's not as rough. still matte black, but a little glossier and much easier to clean.the 5-point thumb wheels have been replaced with flat oval screws and the stand is about 2 inches taller. everything else is the same, but i think it's a little lighter -- not by much though.downside these new screws are even easier to over tighten and strip out. just be careful. and now the upper screw's washer is easier to lose when tearing down to move. it would be fantastic with lever-action compression screws and some other method of attaching the upper platform that didn't require completely unscrewing the thing.

This stand would be great except for a few things; the first is the legs do not open and close easily. I have to practically force them open by flipping the stand on it's back and slowly pushing the legs up to the flat part. I have sprayed them with WD40 and it still doesn't work. The other issue is the flat part where you put your laptop is not on a pivot head so when you fold it up it does not pivot in such a way you have a folded up stand so you are basically wielding a big metal weapon when you walk from place to place with your stand. You would have to remove the screws which is a pain and then rebuild the stand each time. The other issue with the non pivot head is that you can't adjust the tilt because---there is no pivot. For over $100 I expected more. By contrast, my old school music stand I was using as a laptop stand, I picked up at the local music store and was only $50. Since this stand doesn't have a pivot head it is actually easier for me to carry the giant music stand which does have a pivot head and I can lay flat, than this thing. The metal things that are supposed to hold the computer in place didn't even fit thru the holes so forget that. Good thing my keyboard for my iPad is magnetic. 😑

I have used this at work for over a year, and it has not let me down. I take it down and back up 3 times a day, 5 days a week, so it has been taken up and collapsed about 1,000 times and no issues. It is super sturdy, and I often have to set up in homes full of kids, and have never once worried it would be accidentally knocked over. Only complaint I have is the table has only a small amount of tilt, I like my computer flat, so it is not a problem, but I feel the tilt should have been just left off as a function as it seems like an afterthought. So if tilting is a major benefit for you, you might want a different stand.

The table is fixed to the tripod so it's hard to pack up, and it only tilts at a very narrow set of angles. The table itself is super flimsy sheet metal that I can bend with one hand. Also it wobbles a lot. I guess you get what you pay for, except this thing feels more like a $25 Chinese knockoff than a quality piece of equipment.
