This is a well made tool that performs well if you use it properly. My huge Sycamore tree died in late Spring and I was hoping to save some money and remove as much of the tree myself as I could. Make sure you clean the chain after each use and lubricate it with chainsaw oil to prevent it from getting stuck. I used a tennis ball filled with sand and a screw eye bolt attached to kite string to target a specific limb. Because of the height, an underhand straight up throw worked best, but took several tries. Do not try to cut the limb right at a Y or anywhere near a knot. The denser wood can cause the chain to get stuck. I was surprised at the strength of the chain and rope. At one point it was stuck and I used my full almost 200 lb. weight to try and pull it loose. It didn't budge, but the chain didn't break either. The couple of times I got stuck, I was able to lift the chain out of the cut with a long pole saw while standing on my roof. So far I have managed to remove 2 huge limbs from the trunk of my tree using about 5 cuts to shorten the limb a little each time. I was trying to avoid damaging my roof. The main limbs were about 11 inches in diameter and took about 900 pulls each to cut. I am getting a little older, so I would do about 100 pulls and take a 5 minute breather. You need enough energy to run. While cutting, as soon as you hear the slightest pop, RUN LIKE CRAZY! This is especially true with drier dead wood as it doesn't tear and swing, it just snaps and comes straight down fast. I don't know how long it will last, but it is more than worth the price for the amount of work I have been able to do so far.

I had a10 -12 inch diameter limb about 25ft high that was starting to go over my powerline from the utility pole to my house.I could never get any help, even from professionals, so I decided to try this rope saw.I first got a line of rope on the end of the limb over the powerline. I ran it through an eyelet on my trailer and back to where I would be standing when I was using the rope saw.The ropesaw cut like butter and within 10 min the limb was down.Soon as I began to hear the pop noise from the branch about to fall, I let go of the rope saw and switched to the end of the limb rope and ran with it to pull the limb clear of the powerline. This worked perfectly. This rope saw is a life save, do t know why I never tried one before. If you have limbs you may need to have cut, get this and get on it, saving yourself money and the hassle of getting a high priced pro for 10 min of work. One of the best items I've ever bought for my home.

I really, really like this saw, and saw kit especially the second time I used it, after I sharpened up the teeth. It gets higher in the tree than most can safely climb by extending ropes as long as you need to. You will want to cut from one side or the other, perpendicular to (or parallel with) the branch. Five big branches down and four small ones to go. It tends to bind up as cut gets narrow at end of cut. You can avoid this by getting a partner and extending ropes farther out away from each side of branch and see saw cut.On the down side, the tiny gloves are a joke, so tiny and the file will not go in or stay in the handle unless you grind the typical triangle pattern on to the handle end of the file so it can go into a handle and not spin. The turn buckle connector links tend to loosen up so you should snug them up with a wrench and check them often. I used an Arborist throw bag with a slip cord to get up and over branches. Start small, practice throwing and cutting low (and retrievable). For safety sake do the research, take your time and plan an optional step or a safe exit plan for each and every step to all rigging overhead, don't rush, take your time! If you're not feeling completely confident call an Arborist, or for big, high or crowded branches or obstacles aspecially powerlines call an Arborist!

Worked great overall it cuts well and sharpens very well. I was able to drop some large limbs in an afternoon. It was so much safer all the parts were in the pack and the durability seems great

I recently purchased the Sensilin Rope Saw, a 55-inch rope chain saw designed for tackling tree limbs. Overall, I found the unit to be of satisfactory quality, with no issues. The saw's chain features teeth that cut in both directions, providing versatility and ease of use. However, as someone without extensive chainsaw experience, I cannot determine the exact sharpness of the teeth straight out of the factory. It's worth noting that cutting a six-inch branch using this saw can be a bit challenging, particularly when working alone. I encountered instances where the chain became bound, requiring patience and careful maneuvering to avoid taking it out of the cutting path. Although I did face one instance where the chain slipped off the intended path, with some perseverance, I was able to get it back on track and complete the job. During my use, I successfully cut three branches, saving myself some money in the process.Considering the affordability of the rope saw, it is hard to find a better value for the money. However, it's important to note that patience is necessary when dealing with larger limbs. I cannot comment on how it performs with a helper, but as a solo user, some practice and a calm approach are recommended. One minor drawback I encountered was the included gloves. If you have larger hands like mine, the gloves may not be suitable or comfortable for use.In conclusion, the Sensilin Rope Saw is a cost-effective and functional tool for tackling tree limbs. While it may require some patience and careful handling, it offers excellent value for the price. With practice and persistence, you can achieve satisfactory results.

Tool works great but I ran into a knot and it got stuck. Lucky for me we were taking the entire tree down otherwise it would have been years before I could remove the chain and the large branch was just hanging as I managed to get 3/4 through it. Practice on branches you can reach with a ladder (if it gets stuck) before you try it on a tree that you can't reach if the chain gets stuck.

We have soooo many trees that we cannot reach or afford to pay someone to cut back. Found this idea and decided to try it! Took a bit to get it over the limb but when we did it worked. Two guys on either end getting a major workout. We did try it on green coconut seed pods but it got stuck and it took forever to get down.
