I use this primarily for 550 cord projects like making monkey fist knots, and it works pretty good for that. Haven't tried actual rope splicing yet, but I do like that the pusher tool really shoves the cordage up into the fid. The included hard case is a great touch for keeping this stuff organized and together as well.

I have had several of these splicing kits over the years but this one really is deluxe. All the parts are well-made and it goes up to bigger sizes than any lines I'll ever use. If I can just keep from losing the parts, I'm set for life.

This kit is used to help make rope splices and end eyelets. This kit comes with five different sized FIDS, a wooden handled "pusher" tool and a handy translucent plastic storage case. Use these tools with double braided hollow and twisted ropes of plastic or natural fiber rope types. The FIDS are made from high quality stainless steel tubes, each with a finished point. The FIDS make it easy to run the individual strands into a weave action and the pusher helps with getting the strands through openings. The tools are very useful in nautical situations like sail boat rigging.Would recommend this to anyone.

Nice kit made of stainless steel. There are no directions except to go to YouTube and find a video, not theirs. I thought the price is a little steep for a couple of tubes. The video I watched used a different style of tubes.

This is a set of 6 rope splicing tools, needles with a plastic carrying case. These arrived fully intact. These are made will with no rough edges. This is a good set at a good price compared to buying individual tools.
