To refrigerate or not?
Eggs are laid with a protective cuticle coating known as the "bloom". As long as freshly laid eggs are NOT washed, they can be stored safely at room temperature for up to two weeks before refrigeration is recommended.

1. Place newly collected eggs onto the skelter in order of retrieval date. You no longer need to mark or date your eggs!
2. To use, remove an egg as needed starting with the bottom egg first. The remaining eggs will roll down freely ensuring you always use the eggs in order
3. Replenish by placing newly collected eggs next to the eggs at the top.
4. Repeat!

Just set this up today and only had 3 eggs on hand but it works well from the test I’ve done and is also cute. It feels sturdy and I think it will hold a lot of eggs.

This is a nice rack that seems sturdy and looks nice on the counter. It's perfect for making sure you use the oldest eggs first. If you have a lot of double yolks layers they may not fit, as the picture demonstrates 😂 luckily most of our hens just lay standard large and the rack works great.

I've been raising chickens for seven years, and until recently, I used to store my eggs by piling them in used egg cartons on the counter and dating them. However, after starting my blog, I decided to research egg rack reviews on Amazon and found my top pick. This egg rack is amazing. It fits perfectly under my kitchen cabinets and can hold up to 2 dozen eggs while keeping them fresh - no more stacking cartons or dating eggs manually! Although some reviews mentioned that the eggs cannot be stored pointy side down, we use eggs frequently, so this is not an issue for us. Another thing to note is that when removing an egg, the stand auto-rotates, and sometimes the eggs get stuck and may hit each other, resulting in broken shells. However, I found that with a gentle push and by protecting the other eggs from collision, there are no issues. Overall, I give this product an A, and the basket that comes with it is very nice too!
