Kestrel 5 series Rotating Vane Mount with MOLLE Carry Case, Berry Compliant
Turn your Kestrel 5 Series meter into a complete weather station with this lightweight, portable vane mount accessory. Includes a MOLLE/PALS compatible, Berry-compliant, tactical carry case.
This precision engineered accessory securely mounts any Kestrel 5 Series meter to any tripod or other ¼-20 fitted bracket. Once mounted, the Kestrel 5 Series becomes a full-featured weather station with a large wind vane and precision pivot that keeps the Kestrel oriented into the wind for continuous measurement and logging of wind speed, wind direction, and all other key weather parameters. The Kestrel 5 Series Vane Mount offers the convenience of being able to also use the Kestrel mounting clip as a fixed ¼-20 compatible bracket, allowing use of an extension pole for taking wind or air flow readings.

For maximum functionality, choose a Kestrel with LiNK wireless data communication to accompany your Vane Mount. The Kestrel LiNK app displays the Kestrel’s real-time readings on a vivid, customizable dashboard, providing a remote weather station display that functions up to 100’ away (line of sight).
Your Kestrel meter can be conveniently stored and carried inside the tactical carry case, making it the world’s most portable weather station. The ENTIRE Kestrel + Vane Mount kit weighs just 11.1 ounces / 314 grams and measures just 2.5 x 3 x 9 inches / 6.5 x 7.5 x 23 cm. The carry case is made of 500-denier Cordura nylon and embedded Kevlar fabric, which is tear-resistant and lightweight, and the dense and heavy padding protects the contents in transit. The case Berry Compliant and manufactured exclusively for Kestrel in the United States by TYR Tactical. An internal battery pouch secures extra AA batteries and MOLLE attachment points on the rear secures the kit to your belt or pack.

The actual part that holds the Kestrel 5700 doesn't have any mechanism that wraps around the actual part that holds the kestrel. Also there is a threaded hole at the bottom of the part. If it is meant to further secure the kestrel, they didn't even include the screw or what ever you are supposed to use.If this is the 5000 series wind vane, I would hate to see the 1000-4000 wind vane.Can someone please tell me if they use this thing and what they added to better secure it.

Excellent addition to the kestral. The Tyr Tactical case is great. Wish it was a tad larger do it would hold the mini tripod.

Need to get that extra wind call to make the ultimate shot. this may be the ticket for you. commit to a system and it'll integrate and give you visual as well as digital information needed. Maybe a bit too much kit for the average user and at > $50 is not for everyone.

although this will hold any Kestral later that a 4000. the groove clamps are not wide enough on the kestral to hold in winds.
