These are light and much more portable than most. If you are looking for a pair that can ride in a pack without taking up too much room or weighing a lot, these are good in that regard. The problem is the straps are so short you can barely wear it over a long sleeve shirt, let alone a jacket. I had to buy some Velcro to make the straps long enough, but because of their weight and portability it was worth it to me. If pack-ability isn't a priority I would look elsewhere. If it is these will work, but you will need to improvise unless you are a ten year old not wearing a shirt.
