Twelve years ago I bought an Epiphone Goth Bass on a whim just because they reduced the price where I couldn't pass it up and it was so cool looking with that black matt finish and Thunder Bird body. I had no idea what it would sound like until I got it home and I plugged it into my amp. I was impressed that it had a nice tone but I probably wouldn't play it at a gig simply because I felt gigging with the sound I was getting just wasn't going to cut it. However I just replaced the original strings Rotosound RS77LD Monel flat wound strings. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The bass sounded great with these strings. Smooth, clear sound that was sounding great on stage and the sound was much brighter than I was expecting while maintaing a nice solid bottom. I highly recommend these strings especially if you are looking for the clarity you would want from round wound strings while still maintaining that smooth, warm, solid bottom you get from round wound strings. I now have a second bass to gig with. My Rickenbacher fitted with Rotosound RS66LF strings for that distinct round wound super clear growl sound and my Epiphone for the smooth flat wound srtings. I have the best of both worlds.

There are a lot of flatwounds out there that I've tried. Took a shot on these and really like the feel. Not too smooth, not too rough. Good job

Great feel and sound after they are settled.Easy on the fingers, used on a cheap beginner bass guitar.

I used these strings in the mid 1970’s and loved the tone but found they started to lose their brightness in a month or two (used alot for practice and playing out at the time). I tend to clean hands before playing and wipe down after playing now so we will see. I will report back in a few months on longevity but these are great strings!

Put them on my dad’s 79 Peavey T40 that he’s had since new suddenly he’s 17 again and jamming out to Rush. (He’s been Just beautifully crisp and bright with unrivaled bottom and crunch. Total instant favorite! However it took a lot of trus rod adjustment to straighten the neck out once fitted the heavy old mister with these, but worth it.

ok, im normally a guitar player. got a bass recently, and was almost bleeding an hour later.so... i discovered flat wounds. and oh my god theyre awesome! these strings are so silky i want flat wounds on my guitars now! effortless slides, easy fretwork. JUST BUY IT!

I have used these Rotosound strings since the 1970's. They are the best, longest lasting flats you can put on a bass.

Love these strings. Slick feel. No finger noise. Surprisingly bright when fresh having a pristine bell like quality. Super tight punchy bottom end. They mellow, almost improve, with age to give a warm deep tone (unlike round wounds that quickly start to sound terrible). Stiffer and slightly higher tension to similar gauge rounds, this allows you to drop your action a far bit.

J'ai acheté ces cordes parce que je cherchais des cordes à filets plats. Je joue dans un tribute Pink Floyd et ce sont ces cordes qui équipées la basse de Roger Waters. J'en ai monté sur mes 3 basses, et je suis très satisfait de leur rendu sonore : basse très ronde. Au touché, elles sont également très agréables.

Fantastiche, finalmente ho trovato le corde che fanno per me. Montate sul mio Jazz Bass hanno il suono che cercavo da tempo "Corposo e profondo". Al tocco risultano morbide e con lo Slap sono da paura. Penso di montarle anche sul mio Music Man. Consigliatissime
