I bought the wildlife of the world book and it is amazing. It comes with 12 foil sheets, they come in gold, silver, holographic and rainbow. Each animal page has a page of information about the animal across from it and it has a piece of thin paper between the pages to protect the foil page from damage.It has 2 straps to hold the tool on the side of the book. The front and back covers are a little oversized to cover the tool so it doesn't scratch anything, or anyone it shouldn't. The tool I got is plastic with a sharp metal tip. It is perfect for fine detail and the pictures have a lot of detail. I have been doing scrapper foil art for about 15 years and I didn't expect this amount of detail on a page that is only a little over 8 x 6 inches.My book did have a few scrapes on a couple of the foil pages around the edges, but nothing that I couldn't cover up.The wildlife book has pictures of lioness &cub, tiger & cubs, spider monkey & baby, giraffe & baby, great ape, lion and cubs, leopard, polar bear & babies, killer whales, penguins, rhino & baby, and elephant & baby.There are 12 pages of blank paper in the back that you can use to sketch on or as I do to protect the foil picture from my skin oil while I work on it.

Using the tools that come with the book, you can't scratch off without going through the page to the white. Had 5 people try to no avail. These are awful. So dissapointed.

This is a book of engraving art pictures. No experience or talent necessary! I'm 54 and find these very relaxing and satisfying. I have NO drawing talent. This makes me feel creative and like I've really done something pretty. I first tried one of the smaller kits found in craft stores for a buck or two. After that, I was hooked. As I probably won't be hanging my artwork, I like doing it in this book. I may even give it to my Grandson when he is a little older (3 now). It takes a little practice to get the scraping technique down. But, I find myself hooked on it for hours! I plan to get the other books in this series, too. I've already done 2 pictures in this book this week.The book also contains information about the animals in the pictures. So, it's educational as well.I would recommend this for children who are artistic from about age 10 and up. Or, for adults who WISHED they could draw, paint, etc. of any age.

The book cover is very sturdy and will protect the pages, as well as there is a thin sheet of almost see through paper that helps protect them, too. The pages do not really come out of the book, but for me, that's ok, as it means I can just store the whole book when I am done. The one disappointing thing is that it was advertised as 24 sheets. The sketching sheets in the back are nothing more than thin, white paper. They are not scratch art sheets. The value for the price is still very good, so I'm not terribly unhappy. But thought it was worth noting, and thought it should be explained clearly in the item description. I am looking forward to trying out this kit. I have done about 10 scratch art kits so far, but no foil ones yet. I am looking forward to starting this book after I finish the current project I am on. I wouldn't call this item a travel item, really. I wouldn't want to do it in a car or in a waiting room, etc. When you do this kind of art, you are scraping off a claylike coating....it does make a mess! Outside, sure. In a hotel room where you can sit at a table and clean up the scrapings, sure. :) All in all, I think I will be pleased with this purchase!

I decided to get this because it's in book form, and if I get bored doing one, I can always do another one in the book. I wanted to know what each of the pictures were before I bought them, and as of today (3/1/15) there aren't any pictures shown as to what each of the designs are. Every 3 pages the foil changes, starting with Gold foil, followed by Silver, Holographic, and Rainbow.The binding is pretty solid.There's a holder to put the scratching tool, but I would be careful about doing that because you might scratch something you don't want to, like your skin or belongings. The pages are a little bit thinner than the full sized engraving art but not by much.There are 12 "sketching pages" in the back of the book. The pages are very thin, so don't expect to be able to make works of art on them.The cover of the book is very thick, and it overhangs beyond the pages to prevent the edges of the pages being rubbed away by friction.Pro Tip:~I save my engraving tools from each engraving art that I do (which isn't that many, but I do a few of them over the course of a year or so) so that I have other engraving tools to go to because each tool varies just a little bit differently.~I bought and I'm glad I did because I needed a finer, sharper, tool for some of the details. It was $3.99 with Prime shipping so it was worth it for me.~For those little details that are irritating, like the little parts where it is a line, and then the pattern quickly turns to a solid area, try to practice "flicking" and it may turn out better. I'm not good at it yet; it's so damn irritating to get a solid area when you didn't mean to.~As with any engraving art like this, you want to be careful and not be overzealous in your scratching.

Es como se ve en la foto. Pastas duras y láminas para rascar encuadernadas. Lo único la cuchilla no es tan fina como me gustarÃa, hace unos rascador un poco gruesos, gracias que tenÃa una de una lámina anterior. Ahh! Tampoco trae carboncillo de pruebas para mirar la fuerza y la inclinación a la hora de raspar.
