I was expecting a great deal of muting to be done. Doesn’t properly fit on a bridge of a 3/4 bass, covers mainly G, and D strings. Less coverage on lower strings. For this reason, there isn’t much effect as there could be especially on lower strings. It does bring more of a muted sound on the upper strings like G and D. Overall it does its job by about 50-66%.

Bought, as birthday gift for granddaughter for upright bass. She requested the mute (or maybe the family did!!) Heavy rubber, should do the job well.

I don't know if I misunderstand how this works or if its for a cello but it sure doesn't seem like it fits the bass. it would be really nice if it came with some kind of instructions but it was literally just the mute in a bag and I couldn't find any information online.Its solidly built and a good quality, I just don't get how to use it!
