Every time I use these -- which is every day -- I think "I really should write a review," and then move on to the next thing and forget. But it took me some experimenting to find these, and I do think it's worth sharing their extremely good points.I use mine for my 3 dogs' kibble. I buy the big bags and dump a couple of them into a big airtight bin that sits on the floor of the coat closet -- NOT a pretty wrestling match! Every 4 or 5 days, I use a scoop to fill two of these Rubbermaid containers from the bin, and store them in a bottom cabinet in my kitchen. There is literally nothing I would change about these containers, and here's why:- They're just the right size. I want to refill them as seldom as possible, and these things are just at the limit for how big you can get before you lose maneuverability. They taper, top to bottom, and that makes them easier to fill -- the widest part is where you're filling into. That also makes the balance easier for pouring -- the top contents are always a little heavier than the bottom, because the width means there's just more there.- The red top lids are designed perfectly. They're easier than most Tupper-ish lids to take on and off. they hold perfectly once you've got them on, and the clear flip lid over the pouring spout also has the subtle little design perfection that when you flip it all the way open, it stays that way no matter what angle you go to while it's open -- but without locking, so it's nothing to just flip it shut. Opening and closing the flip lid is easy, and once you've closed it, it's a perfectly secure seal.- Handling it is surprisingly easy for its size, even when fully loaded with heavy dog kibble. The secret is the notched side. You can see from the photo that it's tapered, top to bottom. It took me awhile to realize that means you just pick the spot that's the right size for your hand -- if your hand's too small for the spot you grabbed, move down, and if your hand is too big for where you are, move up. It'd be too big for really small hands -- I wouldn't expect a toddler to use this, but then the whole thing is really too big for the littlest kids to manage anyway. My hands aren't especially strong, so it makes a big difference to me that I can find the spot that makes my grip the easiest.Every time I use these, I marvel at the way there are no little irritants to the experience -- at all. These things are big, and pretty bulky, but they are perfect for holding maybe 10 lbs of pet kibble and making it really easy to dole it out.Responding to other reviews: I was anticipating a terrible time with the labeling on these, so took it slow and easy -- and had no trouble at all. And as to the price -- the low price on these was one of the reasons I didn't try them first. I kinda figured cheap meant cheesy, but I was so wrong.

Fits a large box of cereal . Works great. Lid snaps in place.

I never considered getting a cereal container before, started to have ants come into the pantry and wanted to seal up the cereal before they got into it. This is an excellent container and its easy to use. Holds about two large family sized boxes of cereal and keeps the cereal fresh and contaminant free. The lid seals within the container and keeps bugs and the lid from easily opening, also appreciate the molded plastic handle - makes it very easy to pour out cereal without digging inside a box and somewhat sealing the plastic bag found in traditional cereal boxes.

I bought three of these from Costco (the were light blue). These are ALMOST identical. The Costco ones came with loose labeling and no stickers. The difference in function is the Costco ones have a distinct click when you close the small lid. On examination the lip on the top of the Costco ones is about twice the depth. These (and one of the three I got is worse than the other two) is a soft fit. Shaking contents would almost certainly pop the lid of these but not the Costco ones. That said they are very useful. They are easy to hold and to pour out the contents. We use them for cereal, and dog and cat food. They easily hold 4lbs of dog food. The Amazon ones are not close to being leak proof. I have not tested the Costco ones since they are full of dry material. However, I doubt they are leak proof.

This container is exactly what I was looking for! I love the rectangle shape because it is more space efficient in my pantry. I can easily slide three of four of these containers next to each other without messing up the tidy space. The handle allows for an easy one-handed pull out. The clear plastic allows me to see what is inside, no labels needed. The lid is airtight, and won't come off it the container is knocked over. I like the large size because it hold so much, which means I have to refill the container less. I use one for cream of wheat, one for nine grain cereal, one for steel cut oats, and one for flour. You could also use them for cold cereal.They hold up nicely. Sturdy. I will be buying more. Some things I didn't find in reviews that you may like to know: THE LID STAYS OPEN for easy pouring! Also, the sticker peels off nice and easy without tearing into shreds and leaving adhesive on the container. That is a nice feature that makes life a little easier. :)

This container is perfect for large amounts of sugar that’s why I ordered it. I had purchased a very large 10 lb bag of sugar and it wouldn’t fit in any of my usual containers, so I ordered this one and it fit perfectly with room to spare. The lid seems pretty sturdy, probably not completely air tight but then again this is mainly sold as a cereal container so no where does it say it’s airtight. I still gave it 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all around because of the value and it was just as I expected it to be. The package was very nice and in an original Rubbermaid package. My order arrived within 24 hours with my Prime. So honestly I do recommend this product 💯! And search around you won’t find anything as large at this price point either. So yes just buy it!

I have purchased two of these. I like Rubbermaid products they work well. I may buy a third.

Muy buen producto, cierra herméticamente. El cereal no se descompone nada, guarda un par de cajas de cereal de las chicas y poco mas de una de las cajas grandes de cereal. Una vez lo use como jarra y compre muchos mas para guardar un bulto de comida para perro (ocupo 7 para un bulto de 11kg), ya que caben perfecto en mi alacena... Una vez un primito se equivoco de envase y se sirvió un plato de comida para perro con leche, ahora se que los perritos comen bien porque se dio cuenta hasta la mitad del plato :sEn resumen: Buena compra almacenan lo justo y muy durables.

I like the grip able handle. That’s why I bought it. Other ones you fumble around and drop it because it’s flat all the way around. This one has a side to grab onto. Good quality and a bit of smell before you wash it. Soak it in soapy water for a few hours and smell is gone. Food quality is preserved fresh for my pets which they like.

First thing to mention: yes, this can hold a 10 lb bag of basmati rice. I say this because I was looking to go the next size up but one of the reviews suggested it was large enough, despite the volume conversions I saw online which told me I needed something closer to 25 cups. It probably depends on the type of rice.Anyway, the container itself is sturdy and thick enough that it doesn't flex much. The lid snaps on tightly without having to struggle, and even the part that opens to allow you to pour out the contents doesn't feel like it'll open accidentally (which I've had happen with cheaper cereal containers). Not gonna test it out, but I'm fairly confident this can fall over without the lid popping off. This is one of those times you can feel the quality from a good brand name. I haven't tried removing the label, but it looks like one of those stubborn ones.
