It’s cumbersome and bigger than expected. It works and I couldn’t find a better way. It doesn’t give you other options for the tailgate unless make something from scratch.

You need to read the direction for the proper mounting. I missed the recommended distance and had to re-drill the holes. I installed this a 2008 wrangler and it works as described. It seems a bit long winded when unscrewing to release and hold. Works ok and haven't had any issues

This does NOT fit my 2009 wrangler. The first thing it says in the paper work is that it does not fit a 2007 model onwards with a factory fitted sub woofer!!! Well that would have been nice to know.
