Form, fit and function as good as original. We'll see how long it lasts but so far so good. To install, pull shift lever to backmost position (S). Then pry silver coverplate off with spudger or gently with screwdriver giving access to two small T15 Torx screws down by cupholder edge of console. Then the console slides straight out. It's held by two alignment pins and clips. Turn sideways to expose back of switch. Undo wiring connector (depress tab). Remove old switch by pressing side spring clips. Reverse process to install new switch. Very easy overall. If it seems hard, you are probably doing it wrong. Video online too.

Fired up the first shot. Took about 30 minutes to replace. Would have been less gad I known you have to pull shifter back to succeed. Remember to put back in Park before starting car. Feels just like oem just not the $144 oem price. Hope it lasts. Great so far!

Matches up to the original. Original started failing so had to replace the start button for the 2017 Passat.Once the center is opened up, replacement is easy. Fits correctly.

Installation was easy, works great just like brand new. Deducted one star because the text was slightly misaligned. You can't just turn the silver plastic cap to fix it either, the tabs won't line up properly if you do.
