These are really good with the wood handles and have handled the Colorado dirt that is firm from the snow really well. We were able to get bases in quickly to start practice.

The RunNico brand “Baseball Dig Out Tools, Sturdy Anchor Clean Out Tool†is quite good at $13/pair, especially for my rougher-than-baseball use.I needed this for something much more difficult–to repoint loose mortar on brick steps, for which I could not find any professional tools specific to this job. A regular chisel cannot be used because the bricks are fragile and inside a 90 degree joint. The angled point of the tools is perfect for digging out the old mortar. I do not know if the tool could chip out intact mortar, but it fine for loose/broken mortar in my case.The description states it is stainless steel, but my magnet does stick to it, so it might be a cheaper kind of stainless steel that can eventually rust. However for my use case, this ferritic stainless steel is preferable because it is harder.Anyways, if this tool can dig out old mortar, it can certainly deal with anything on your baseball field!

The good is that the design is exactly what is needed, narrow and scoopy but also flat-capable. the handle is very good wood, and the unit looks great overall.The bad is that the metal in the blade is very thin. that means that it bends when scraping more than just a little dirt, and that makes it a bit frustrating to use. so small scoops only.

I have been a baseball coach for over 10 years and one of the most annoying things is when you need to move bases but you have to dig out dirt/sand out of the hole for the base. This tool solves that problem and quickly removes the dirt from the hole and allows the base to settle correctly. Well priced for 4 tools and its has been nice to not have to invent ways to clear out the hole.

Picked up 4 of these to get ready for the upcoming spring season. Definitely a good deal and they are good quality.I'm sure our teams will definitely lose them before we could ever break them! I'd recommend them to others, and I'm sure I'll be back for more.

As a softball coach who maintains my own fields these work as expected. Nice and inexpensive, so even if they don't last a long time, they are still worth it.
