You could probably use a bobby pin or a safety pin, but this year is easy to feel it’s kind of like a tweezer with a little Doo hickey that makes a clamp down on something so you can go be a fish for it. Haven’t actually used it yet, but I’m happy with it.

Product was good and as described. Amazon billed by charging shipping costs after offering free shipping after previous purchase. Don't trust read fine print if you can find it

It solved my trouble, because I often accidentally pull out the drawstring. It is very convenient to install the drawstring with this.
