This was a perfect replacement for an older model that had stopped working. It was easy to install and was a nice upgrade compared to the older version.

It's ok. It does what it's supposed to do. There are two problems: the connectors for the speakers use this weird connection that actually squishes the wires back out instead of holding onto them tightly. I am inclined to think that they were designed with solid-copper wires in mind. I had to install the switch three times because the wires kept coming unhooked. The second problem is that I hooked it up to their Bluetooth connector and it did something to the switch that is preventing me from changing to any other source.

I think the ergonomics of the a-k4 are improved over the a-k3. They fixed the issue with the cat5 connector and some other glitchy behavior. However the style is too square and the display is now very bright for night use. It's an improvement for sure but still not perfect.

In addition to operating as an ABUS local speaker amplifier, the Russound A-K4 amplified keypad provides additional unbalanced line level outputs that I am using to connect to a subwoofer amplifier. The added bass of the subwoofer fills in the missing response of the ceiling speakers and the overall effect is awesome. Great Product!

These are great... just added more speakers to a remodeled basement... they plug right in and go... this model has the CAT5 plug in vs. the older models that had to be wired directly... nice improvement

We suffered a surge due to lightning. One of my keypads was powered on a blew out. We put our Abus system in when we built the house 21 years ago, so a few things have changed. Love that the CAT-5 is now attached with a connector. I also like the new look of the pad. That said, the volume buttons don’t seem quite as sturdy as the old ones, but only time will tell on that.

Unit kind of works. Turns system on. But when you adjust volume or power off there is a loud electrical noise. Looking all over the internet. Seems they are sometimes prone to this. So a $260. lemon.
