I use this to fill 7 gallon jugs from my hose for trail races. I hate the taste of hose water so I bought these in hopes that it would cut some of that nasty taste out. Well, it worked. It cuts out about 90% of the bad taste. I"m not sure how long one filter will last but I've used it for over 100 gallons.

In-line water filter with an arrow showing correct orientation. I have used several sets of these. Each one being useful for about 6 months. Water quality will certainly affect the longevity. If you water pressure drops, the filter is likely in need of changing. I use the spring attachment at the tap source as well as at the trailer connection. The kit comes with month decals, so you can easily refer to them should you forget when they were installed. You will want to run water through a new filter for about a minute or two to flush out loose media which is mainly charcoal. These do a great job of reducing tastes and odours such as chlorine. I would not rely on them to reduce heavy metals, chemicals, bacteria, viruses or parasites if you are hooked up to a sketchy water supply.

I bought these already last year for rv and boat, it works pretty good .In my opinion works better than the more expensive filters
